TitleistMatt
I have flown the R44 Raven II and I am very familiar with the helicopter, however, not the R44 Raven I. Does anyone know if there is a difference between the emergency procedures section of the R44I POH and the R44II POH? Thanks for the help. The only thing I remember being different is the air restart procedure, since the II is more "complex" to start.
rotormandan
Emergencies are the same. Start up is a little different and off course you have the whole fuel injection thing in the raven II so carb heat is no longer a worry. It's like going from an R22 Beta to an R22 Beta II. The Raven II has a little extra power just in case you really need it.
Bootcamp
The mid-air restart procedure is different and you have 100 lbs. less for your max gross weight. You need to apply carb heat when the needle is in the yellow arc and there is visible moisture in the air. (Not full carb on landing like in the R22.) Other than that, the ships are virtually identical.
