helicodger pilot
In case you haven't seen it yet, the April/ May 2009 issue of Air & Space Smithsonian magazine has an entertaining article about how the ENG helicopter originated. AND, if you don't get the magazine, the article is available on-line here: Air & Space Mag- Zoom Shot Things have changed a bit since 1958...

highaltrotor
Looks just like the one Robert Downey jr flys in the begining of 'Ait America' when he flys down and starts yelling at the truck driver. I think he was in LA too
Goldy
OK, since I am an aircraft crash nut, I thought I would throw in some Los Angeles trivia. Horrible accident occurred when a LASD Bell 47 went down North of LA, killing both LA Sheriff Deputies. To the rescue came an LA City Fire Department helicopter....also a Bell 47. And the station covering the crash ? You guessed it, KTLA Channel 5, in a 3rd Bell 47. BTW, I was over at the VNY Air Ops a few months ago and what do I see? The original old City Fire Bell 47 now sitting in a corner of the hangar....still looking pretty cool. Goldy
