Helo Training at Kent State

Sikorsky Used to Train

Kent State University, in Ohio, will begin teaching a helicopter-training course using two S-300CBis. The university's College of Technology now offers private, commercial, certified flight instructor and certified flight instructor instrument ratings. The university connected with local EMS units and is also in communication with U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force ROTC programs, in the hopes of forming a joint collaboration program in the future. With more than 75 students entering the pilot training program each year, the industry will hopefully see a new infusion of talent.

I had not read this before......sounds like a great program.

Wow! Wish I got hooked up with that program...I wonder how legitimate their ties with the Army are.

I just got an email about this today... Not sure how it's going to work out with them, but I know their fixed wing program is pretty good. I don't know about the whole Army or ROTC thing, seeing as how right now we do Westpoints Helicopter Orientation program, and we also do ROTC summer training program. However we don't have any ties to EMS companies so that might be a leg up for them, hopefully they do well. It's always nice to see new flight schools out there.
