NorCalHeliKid
I got my contract signed today and I ship to Ft Sill on Oct 1. Came as a bit of a surprise to ship to BCT so quickly but Im ecstatic to see this all panning out and becoming a reality. I got my Sallie Mae Career training loan paid for over the next 3 years which puts a couple hundred a month back in my pocket and saves me the trouble of dealing with loan bureaucrats each month. A question for all the WO's here at VR.... At what point do I request 10 days or orders to move my wife and son to Rucker? Im assuming that I should wait until after WOCS & WOBC? Thanks again yall Arthur

Thanks again yall Arthur Since you are street to seat, I don't think (I'll double check) you can until after WOCS... I was able to before, but I PCS'd with them, I thought I remember some HS2FS guys saying they couldn't until they pinned the dot.

But, i'm starting to get the impression i'll be waiting for the Nov board. Quick ? for ya..When you signed, what MOS did they give ya?? Yeah buddy, I hope to get you in soon too. It was kind of fast but theres no way to decide at MEPS when you ship for basic. The DOA decides and tells you when you are leaving, not MEPS. THe MOS is 9D I believe with WOFT option or WOCS option, Id have to look it up and see.

My resume is geared toward public service and Aviation. Since I have both I used those to my advantage. PM me your email adress and Ill shoot you my letter and Resume if youd like. Just FYI, they cut my "Why I want to be.." Letter in half....it was too long, it is only supposed to be one page and mine was one and a half pages. FLHooker
I thought WOCS Candidate MOS was 09W? Cliff, for those guys going street to seat, they don't attend an AIT. They go straight from BCT to WOCS. NorCal, After you graduate from WOCS and sign into B Co (flight school) you will be given 10 days at that point PTDY to go get your family, all your things, etc... and find a house there at Rucker. Obviously, while you are at BCT and WOCS you will be on 'lockdown'. Once you sign into WOCS, however, your wife can get/do the paperwork to get a house at Rucker if you so choose, because at that point, you are PCS'd to Rucker. wopilot
Good luck man. See you on the flip side. Remember, it's all a mind game from now till the time you pull pitch. And even then B Co will keep you in check. Blue Skies and Best Wishes, Brett
Lindsey
Leaving for MEPS/ BCT tomorrow.... Arthur Good luck! I don't think you'll need it, based on that resume, but there you have it anyways. Once again, thanks for the books (they haven't arrived yet, but I'm sure they will soon). You've got some good karma your way. Remember to come back here and let us know how Basic went when you're done! - Lindsey

Thanks again yall Arthur you'll get it right after wocs graduation. 10 days house hunting... my reccommendation is to have your wife look for spots now...get a place in enterprise...daleville is a bit country...its cheaper...but country. then when you get your 10 days you'll have your place..and all you'll have to do is move in (or hopefully you can get to post early from ft sill and have your stuff already moved in) and chill for 10 days. Congrats..
NorCalHeliKid
Just got in fromn FLW, MO. Done with BCT and looking forward to WOCS and beyond. I know there are a handful of you here who have been and done with WOCS, what can I expect, what should I bring and how will it differ from Basic Training (if it does)?
