Wow scary. When I was doing ENG I was always worried about that when I was hovering over the hood for extended periods of time.

Yeah, lucky they were just a couple blocks east of VNY airport. News report says they hit the engine, which quit, and LAPD did an auto onto the tarmac. Personally, I would have shot back, preferably with a .50 cal.

Time for the real Blue Thunder to take to the skies.

New from Bell Helicopter, It's the Kiowa Enforcer (Available in your departments colors today!)

I figure its not too far off from the stereotypical 206b-PD so why not a little "upgrade" just make the game a little more offense based this time around B)

Do you know how fast they could stop a pursuit with that thing! I'm all for it.

but still, a line of .50 cal across the front of a fleeing car would work everytime

Nope. No need to waste bullets. I prefer to put the line thru the center of the fleeing car as opposed to warning shots.

Yeah, this isn't the first time. Both LAPD and LASD have been shot at before. LASD took two rounds from a psycho and his .40cal about a year and a half ago. The crew did a precautionary landing because they were not totally sure that they got hit. Sure enough, two bullet holes on the bottom of the aircraft.

Orange County Sheriff (CA) took a few rounds from a psycho and his .22LR rifle. The pilot was struck in the foot from the chin bubble. Ouch!

On the LAPD one, the engine did NOT quit. The crew just did an emergency landing at VNY and shut the engine down. The bullet did NOT hit the engine. It struck the underside of the fuel tank. The news was wrong (shocking).

Night time. Round-and-round with the old Starburst, in a narrow valley with a lot of aerials.

Innit great when you hear "Air One! Shots Fired! Shots fired!!", and you get to reflect on the mounting position of the light. Right -smack- underneath-your-favorite-butt.

Ho-hummmm...

(Miss it though)
