AgMan
I have been flying ag in CA for a couple of years, but am thinking of branching out a bit, OR and WA, maybe even the midwest. Do some states recognize licenses from other states? If so, which ones? I haven't been able to find any info. Thanks.
HeliUtah
I feel like I have seen something about some of the licenses carrying over for some states, but I can't remember where I saw it. I know you can get the continuing education credits to carry over a lot of the time.
avbug
Your state license does not carry over to another state. There is some reciprocity in working across lines, so long as you're licensed in the state in which the ag operation is registered, but if you want to move from California to Kansas, for example, you're going to need Kansas certification. A push has been on for many years to seek national certification, but whereas each state maintains it's own controls, such certification is not presently available. AgMan
Must have been the reciprocity I had read or heard about. Thanks.
rick1128
There is some reciprocity. It varies from state to state. You will have to talk with the state office that deals with aerial applicators. Each state is different. New Jersey operates on a case by case basis. Florida accepts MS, GA, AL and I believe MO. In many cases you will have to take the core test for that state as the regulations can be a little different. In some cases you may have to take additional tests due to the way the state deal with the various areas of application. I have taken 3 different state exams and have found them quite similar. AgMan
I guess I'll be making some calls. I'll probably stick to the NW if I can swing it. I'd like to try my hand at some forestry spray work.
