I dont know whether your joking or just really motivated to go to WOCS. I can assure you it is not cool.

 

My suggestion, don't linger around that place, do your time and move out.

Was a little bit of sarcasm. So they control everything once you complete WOCS, but what about between basic and going to WOCS? Who controls what you're doing in that time, because some people say they wait weeks/months for a WOCS start date after basic?

I would heed this mans advice and steer clear whenever it is not mandatory to be around there. Spend your free time at the learning center or playing in traffic but not hanging around Bco.

I went to BCT on 4NOV2013 and I'm not scheduled to graduate until late March 2016. Better learn to love Rucker.

 

Jeez, application process (However long that takes until you're accepted) plus BCT plus 18-24 months of flight school and then a 6 year commitment? I had no idea it was all that long. You military guys/gals certainly are committed. *slow respectful nod*

At BCT graduation, you'll get your orders to report to WOCS. There won't be much time in between but travel is travel, then you belong to 1st WOCC. After, you'll belong to the greatest company ever

I know this is an old post but when I left Rucker a few months ago they were requiring everyone to write a memo to turn in with their leave form to explain why they want to take leave haha

Lets just say I have a memo saved as a doc file and the only thing that ever changes on it is the date and one sentence about where im going

I wish you best! Remember to constantly review your packet and have others review it as well. I felt very confident that I had a solid packet, yet intimidated by others with much higher qualifications than mine. I believe a strong resume and LORs to be the core of the packet. A high GT, SIFT and PT test are great. However, how you present yourself through eloquent writing and having recommendations with well written narratives is vital. Good luck to you, hope your waiver situation gets squared away with ease.

I feel that I am a pretty strong candidate even though I am on the civilian side, but from every one else's opinions how competitive am I? Is having LOR's from service members or government officials crucial?

Not to be a dick but this particular thread is for selected applicants so people can quickly scan their stats. Discussion and stats of those not yet selected would ideally go in the NOV board thread or your applicable anticipated month. Just to cut down on extra stuff in here.

MOS/Experience: P-3C Orion- work center supervisor, collateral duty inspector, qualifier for all support equipment and plane handler operations, safety rep, quality assurance rep. Currently an instructor for "A" school.
