Flying Pig Posted September 26, 2013 Report Share Posted September 26, 2013 In addition to my LE flying job, Ive had 2 civilian flying jobs with helicopters. One part time, one full time. Nobody ever asked about Xctry time. Combined with my airplane time I have over 1000hrs of xctry but dont have it broken up into helo or airplane xctry. I still log it. I figure why not. I've only seen 200-500 hours "unaided" as far as night requirements, with no mention of xc beyond the aforementioned 25? However, Helicopters Inc. just posted an ad requiring 250 hours of cross country. I can see requiring 100, but why would they want 250? Do ENG pilots even fly cross country?
