But OK..... the top of my bald had would probably have a few less scars on it if I at least wore a hat when I preflighted! It's a company wide policy, not just the Academy. Yep, it's influenced by the big oil companies that have ultra strict SMS policies. If you want to do business with them you have to mimic their rules. You can thank the BP oil spill for this.
