Recommended Posts

Just confirmed I'm class 002. Phase 1, 2-20 Oct and phase 2, 21 Oct-21 Nov. Seems so far away. Has any of you started to prepare in anyway? I have not even received my instructions email yet. How about you guys?

I'm AD Air Force... My class date has me starting 2 October. Skyreaper, are you AD? I see you're in tx, as am I.

Negative, civilian. Have BCT in July, so the whole wait doesnt seem too long for me... Coming up on four months to ship. Ill pm some deets on my location.

Also, besides prepping for basic, I have not done much for WOCS besides try to seek out info to familiarize myself w it. A buddy of mine went through about a year ago, civ WOFT. He told me he pretty much went in blind to every stage and just selected 60s.... Im not suggesting that but it did alleviate some anxiety esp since I havent been able to find much in order to prep besides PT. i have been receiving regular email correspondence about WOFT and WOCS, mostly just "hey, congrats, heres a little info".

The one I have is from May 2012, it was posted on milsuite as being the latest as of last month. I'm taking their word for it. Unfortunately I can't link it bc it's CAC only, and it's too big to PM. If anyone needs it you can PM me and we'll try to figure something out.

I'm civilian starting WOCS 2 Oct. Only advice I received about WOCS was from a cw4 who told me prepare to run... a LOT!!

Firepilot

I'm taking a trip to Rucker next week to scope the area out and got some time on the flight sim there.

I'm planning to stop in Louisiana. Where is it better to stay for a night? New Orleans or Baton Rouge? Maybe get some dinner there of course

Definitely go to New Orleans if you've never been down this way. As far as hotels go, French Quarter hotels are best if you like to pay more for smaller rooms (European), followed by Downtown. If you're looking for cheaper go West, along I-10 into Metairie/Kenner. Stay away from the East side of New Orleans. There's too many places to eat in New Orleans for me to even make a suggestion for one meal and you really can't go wrong unless you end up at the Krystal burger on Bourbon St.

Baton Rouge is ok, nothing special.

Thanks dude i appreciate the info.

Is mardi gras still going to be banging this coming weekend? Not really trying to stay there if it's flooded with ppl and hotels being over priced etc.

Looking forward to meeting you and everyone else in our class...

FYI, this is true for basic entry into the Army period. You should be good to go by the time you're out of that and into WOCS.

If you can't run, well, start running. A lot. ;)

Mardi Gras is over so the crowds should disperse although Bourbon St. is always crowded at night. PM Sent

I also can't wait to meet everyone in class and get this adventure started.

Civs: Anyone else not have their WOCS date in their contract? Im only seeing my BCT ship date. Recruiter asked me if I had my orders... I dont, said hes going to find out. So do any civs have their orders also?

I have a printout that says in bold letters on top "CONGRATULATIONS! A SUCCESSFUL RESERVATION WAS COMPLETED FOR" on down the page it has my training dates listed as type, location, start date and length. Mine has BT BENN 20140721 9wks 4 days AIT Rucker 20141002 7wks 2days. Following that page is RA applicant data report. That has Asvab scores and a crapload of acronyms so I don't really know what it says.

I can't remember if I got it from Meps or the recruiter.
