Yes Lindsey. And we all have to take the second half of the WOBC over again when we are done with flight but not for a grade cause we are already graded on it... They are splitting the whole class in half too. One part before flight like it is now, then the other half after. I'm assuming aviation week stuff after. That happens In October also.

Is there any significant difference?

Right now, we are together with LTs. The first part of bolc is what we have already learned in wocs so it's wasted time for us IMO. Then "field week". Then the good part of actually learning about aviation related stuff.

After the split in October, warrants will have a shorter WOBC than bolc and will learn new things the whole time... So I'm told...

I'm told the difference will be the new WOBC will have less commander/platoon leader stuff and more warrant pilot oriented things. Right now we are basically in a lieutenant course just sitting in the corner like a step child. You can blatantly tell the course is designed for them and not warrants.

What does WOBC stand for?

Warrant Officer Basic Course. So Yamer they are saying for sure we have to go through the latter half again? When we got our brief on the change they weren't sure yet. Not that I mind, I learned a lot during aviation week and can see huge benefit to doing it when everyone actually understands flight.

They need to make up their minds....

"Back in my day" (Yes, Lindsey, I'm a dinosaur), they had JOPD (Junior officer professional development) which was both warrants and Commissioned, and a waste of time for the WOs as it basically informed the RLOs what we were. ...we already know that. We just graduated WOCs next door, where they told us that.

Then there was "BOLC 3A" (combined LTs and WO) which was before flying, and general officer things. ROC-V, different classes of supply, something about the motor pool, whatever. At the end of it all, after final checkride, and yet ANOTHER PT test, was BOLC 3B. AVCATT, mission planning, the "Dark Horse challenge", a TON of stuff about doctrine. Then finally, graduation.

I've heard they changed it several times since then, as it is....

My report date for phase 2 isn't until September 16th of 2015! That is after my ETS date! This has to be a mistake. Who do you call to request an earlier report date?

Get with your BN retention NCO.

My Phase 1 DL report date is Oct 01 2014 thru September 30 2015. Does that mean I can't enroll and start on DL until Oct 01? And I keep seeing "must be completed NLT 90 days after SMS date". What is SMS?

Yes, 01 October is the course start date. You can complete your enrollment prior to the course start. Not sure if you'll get black board access before that date, I haven't gotten confirmation on my account yet. If it's anything like ALC Common Core, you have 90 days from the day the course material is open on your black board account to complete it.

Did anyone who got selected in July get any other emails besides the 3 (WOCS Phase 1, Phase 2, and WOBC) dates? I thought there was supposed to be an email with the WOC SOP and some other info. The only WOC SOP I have been able to find is from October 2007.

All I've received is an ATTRS notification of class reservation. No RFO or info packet yet.

There is a orientation packet, commandant letter, and various other info on the WOCC site. Here is the link. I have only received ATRRS class reservations and inter-service transfer info via email. I am going to meet with the AD recruiter on Monday to discuss my transfer. Class date is 19 Mar though, so I have some time...
