Creep0321
Signal2rotary - Good luck getting everything together, hopefully all goes well. Â I submitted my package to the email listed on the USAREC website. From what I understand it is suggested to wait 5-10 business days, and then call a regional recruiter in order to check on whether my package is "board ready" or not correct? Signal2rotary
Sooooo none. Just messing with you (but really).Yeah, pretty much. Although, several of the guys I fly rc with are chinook and blackhawk pilots, and they won't give helis a try. One atleast does quadcopters. I freak them all out holding an inverted hover, they all say helicopters aren't supposed to fly upside down.

However, I would not assume that if you don't receive any corrections emails, that you are good to go.

Creep0321
I did not do mine through the Air Force, but I did go mine through a mix of Navy and Army Flight surgeons, on 2 different bases and a ship while deployed. As long as the Air Force flight surgeon is familiar with AERO, it should not be a problem. The biggest thing I noticed is there are a few tests that are still acceptable outside of the Army, that the Army no longer accepts, specific to the eyes. I had to redo that part with an Army Optometrist. I would call the Air Force base, try to speak with a flight surgeon and see if he/she is familiar with the Army requirements and has access to AERO. If he or she seems very confused it may be worth the drive, for simplicity and peace of mind knowing it is done correctly the first time. Signal2rotary
Not really sure on the street to seat. Had a 154 on the AFAST, decent pt and LORs. My first time applying after going active duty, I had been given a really weak NCOER, almost certain that was what brought my packet down. Now have two stronger NCOERS, last one being a 1/1, along with a whole lot of classes and additional duties. Did just as well on SIFT, and have a higher PT score. Very hopeful this go around.
USCav19D
Well, since getting my release from the National Guard is taking too long for me to make the November cutoff, I'll repost this here. I'm a former active duty, current guard, college student looking to go back on active duty in aviation. The big hurdle right now is getting a conditional release from the Army AG in my state so that I can go on active if I get selected. It's also required to even take my flight physical and SIFT, a fact not highlighted to by my recruiter until a couple of weeks ago. Anyways:Â Age: 26ASVAB/GT: 93/125SIFT: Not takenAPFT: 300 (well, 310, but who's counting)Education: Current college junior, political science major 3.25 GPAFlight experience: About 25 hours in FW when I was in high school, broke the bank and couldn't finish my PPLWaivers: None, but I do need a conditional release from my guard unit to go back on active.LORs: Troop CO, Squadron/BN CO, CW3
Beck0321
Thanks for the heads up on the new Forum, Creep...Kidding man. I'm never on here enough and I really hope it doesn't hold me back. I feel like the useful info only comes from these forums.Since I am HOPEFULLY submitting here in a week or so, I SHOULD be on January's board as well. I guess I'll repost my stats with updates. Age: 30 GT: 118 (as of 2004)SIFT: 54 (I studied the wrong math)APFT: Still haven't officially run one...I'm going to the local recruiter here this week. Should have trained a little for it still...Civilian Education: 49 credit hours with a 3.8 GPA (Weak, but I barely have time to take courses.)Flight physical: Complete and stamped.Conditional Release: SignedMilitary Experience: I am an AD Marine with 9 years TIS (active), 2 years TIG. 2 deployments to Iraq, 1 MEU. LOR's: Should be in hand by the end of the week, hopefully the CWO will be by next week.Waivers: PRK Eye Surgery MIC (2004, prior to enlisting)DUI (2005, prior to enlisting) ZERO incidents with alcohol since. Other info: I have quite a few Marine specialty schools and qualifications (that don't qualify me any more as a pilot). I am currently an instructor of my MOS, and essentially the platoon sergeant of my portion of training. Fears: I'm really, like REALLY worried these waivers are going to shut me down quick. I don't know what to write in them in order to convey to the board that I am not that kid anymore. I'm just hoping my resume speaks to my maturity since the incidents. Best of luck to everyone, and thanks for all the great info. Way more than the ringing phone I get when I try to contact my recruiter.

Signal2rotary
Jesus tittyf*cking Christ... How on earth haven't you been picked up already?I don't know. All the Chief's I've talked to were shocked I didn't get picked up with a 154 AFAST. I hope I won't have to get the same reactions with my SIFT score, and get picked up this go around. Either way, I'm not stopping until I make it.
