There could have been a shortage of seats this month. They look like solid numbers, but if he's redoing the BN board then I'd pin my bets on that being the issue. Or weak LORs.

Your numbers, minus APFT, are better than mine. Hopefully being prior service helps rather than hurts.

These are my same scores, I think my LOR's are pretty legit, I haven't found out my batt. board score but I think that was part of the issue; I got a little nervous during it when I shouldn't have. Less number of seats and higher applicants could have contributed too.

I've never seen a civilian get accepted that didn't have 3/3 recommendations from battalion board, since I've been on the forum.

Hello All,

Former Marine with over 7 years of overseas military civilian contracting experience in Afghanistan in various high level management roles. My first experience with helicopters was working for a logistics company in AFG back in 2010. I was responsible for managing a flight crew on board M-17 helicopters delivering mail, ammunition, fuel, and food to various Fob's and Op's. As a result since then along with several other factors prior to and after that job my passion for rotary aviation is now tried and true.

Recently I have returned to the U.S. from working in Dubai to finally pursue my aviation dream of becoming a helicopter pilot. To be honest prior to the month of November I had no idea that I might have a possibility of being an Army helicopter pilot. I was under the impression that since I had just turned 30 that I was considered over the hill by military standards. Turns out a lot of 30 year olds are getting accepted into the WOFT....This new light of possibility has lit up my world with purpose.

I found a few checklists online regarding the assembly of the packet but was hoping you veterans here could shed some detailed light on the "packet" preparation process. About two months ago I spoke with my local recruiter they seem to be genuinely interested in helping me achieve my goal but I don't know how experienced they are with the WOFT. In my area there has only been 6 packets accepted in the last 10 years.

I was hoping someone could help me with:

1. How do I find a "WOFT Recruiter"? Although my recruiting stations NCOIC seems great, I hear applicants need to utilize WOFT Recruiters to make sure there packets are assembled correctly.

2. Although I have LOR's , Educational Transcripts and My Essay, SF-86, and U.S. Army Enlistment Data Sheet. can anyone provided a more detailed checklist then what is provided on the Army's website?

Any feed back is sincerely appreciated!

Nice stats. I'm USAF as well and will (hopefully) be submitting my packet soon. Are the A10 pilot and B52 nav in your chain?

Yes they are.

Nice! That's a hell of a chain to have when applying for this program. I'll have a maintenance officer and an engineering officer. Not that their words will be any less influential, I just get the feeling that LORs from an attack pilot and a bomber nav have just a touch more weight to them.

Was FOB Mehtar Lam on your pilot's ring route?

Hi guys. First time applicant here. So far I have only taken the asvab and done my physical at meps. I got a 97 asvab and a 134 gt. I know I have the capacity to do well on the sift and my pt test. I should pass the flight physical with no problems too. I have some pretty good LORs, a retired CW3 pilot from Vietnam and a retired F4 pilot who also recruits for the air force academy. I mad C2Lt in Civil Air Patrol as a cadet and have just signed back up as a senior member. My one huge issue is that I am 19 and have only attended community college for one semester, on my second now, so no 4 year degree like most of you. Can anyone tell me how often a non college grad gets accepted?

Thanks!

It's not impossible but like you said, much of your competition has the degree. As for a number on how often they get selected I couldn't tell you but I've seen it happen. You are only 19 so it makes sense you don't have a degree yet, but it will probably depend on your GPA.

Thanks. I know I have a chance so I am going to give it my all but I am a little nervous that not having the degree will be what holds me back.

Anyone else applying for May in my shoes?

I'm am not, however don't stress it you seem to have pretty good stats given your age. 290+ on the APFT and you should be pretty solid.

A lot of people on here get so worked up about stats its funny. Like others have said, it's the worse thing you can do. You can't control others stats and you have no clue what the board members are going to look at. Put together the best packet you can and play the waiting game. If and when you get selected your going to look back and laugh at how stressed you got about your packet. That is the whole point of the process.

I know I have what it takes, its just a matter of convincing everyone else that I do.
