USCav19D
Anyone else applying for May in my shoes?Your ASVAB and GT are solid. Lots of people get picked up with degrees. They help, but they are not a requirement.

Thanks for all the encouragement. My biggest issue right now is PT. I have shaved 4.5 mins off my 2 mile time in 2 months and am at 15 mins now. Push ups are getting pretty close to max but I am terrible at situps. Not too concerned with the SIFT since I have a study book and am pretty good at written tests for whatever reason. If you can actually make the May board, that will probably be the fastest i have ever heard of someone making it from beginning the process to submitting their packet. Not trying to be discouraging, far from it, I'm just putting that into perspective for you. Some people begin the process and it takes them up to a year or two to submit their packet. MarkJenkins89!
The deadline for submission is March, but you can always make corrections up to 2 weeks before the board convenes. So if your PT isn't where you want it just submit your packet and just try to keep improving it. This is my 2nd attempt. I think my PT score is what got me. Its pretty cold up here in VA taking a PT test, especially when my unit only wants to do them at 6 in the morning. But gotta keep improving
DesertBird
Hi everyone, First time posting but I've been reading on this website for a couple weeks now. I'm in the process of getting my packet together. My only main concern is that I'm having trouble finding a recruiter that isn't lazy. Other than that I am looking forward to the help and support everyone gives and gets on this website! Thanks.

Beck0321
Ok, I'm posting in here but its mostly just out of wishful thinking and to pass on what I know.Which isn't good news. My Stats:Age: 30 GT: 118 SIFT: 54 APFT: 286Civilian Education: 49 credit hours with a 3.8 GPAFlight physical: CompleteConditional Release: SignedMilitary Experience: I am an AD Marine with almost 10 years TIS (active), 3 years TIG. 2 deployments to Iraq, 1 MEU. LOR's: Company CO, Battalion CO, CW5 army pilotWaivers: PRK Eye Surgery MIC (2004, prior to enlisting)DUI (2005, prior to enlisting) ZERO incidents with alcohol since. Other info: I have quite a few Marine specialty schools and qualifications. I am currently an instructor of my MOS, and the platoon sergeant of my portion of training. Here's the BUT:The bad news is I was disapproved for my waivers. The reason was worded as: Moral Waiver requests are not routinely approved. The Army's current Warrant Officer selection process for MOS 153A is extremely competitive and accessions needs are being met without reliance on the waiver population. While all waivers are carefully considered, the circumstances surrounding the attached incident as well as a review of (my) service record do not substantiate granting a waiver under the provisions of AR 1350100.Backstory:I had a minor in consumption (which is actually now officially stricken from my record entirely, and I shouldn't have even requested a waiver for it) in 2004, prior to coming into the military. And I had a DUI, in 2005, also prior to joining.I've been in the Marines for almost 10 now with no incidents. I'm sharing this simply to get the word out. The military is in draw down mode, and therefor can afford to be completely selective. I have requested further information to my situation in hopes that I can adjust my future waiver request, in order to improve my chances. As of right now I have to wait the minimum 12 months before reapplying. This means an entirely new package. New Letters of Recommendation (because I am due for orders they will be from new commands) and a new Army CW because mine is preparing to retire. A new conditional letter of release (which will be very difficult to get.) And obviously everything else.I don't want to discourage those who are starting the process of applying, but I do want to warn you that if you are in a situation, such as mine, it may all be for not. Best of luck to everyone out there!

For the sake of your flight packet you MEPS physical doesn't mean anything.

The flight physical gets most people, but you and I have the benefit of being young (I'm only 21 and about to graduate with my BA). People who are in there mid to late 20's can have families, careers etc, life just gets in the way and the process drags.
USCav19D
Life and careers, hell. I'm 26, married with a kid and a full time college student. As lame as it sounds, it isn't too late to start a damn thing.

ee15
As far as I know, the USAREC deadline on the website is for AD applicants. I'm a civilian applicant for this board and my recruiter has shown me a submission deadline of May 1st.

ee15
I walked into my recruiters office last July for the first time. And I am finally getting my flight physical and battalion board interview completed next week. My interview had been canceled 3 times until this one. That delayed about 2-3 months of time for me. It all depends on other people at a certain point to get your packet completed.

DesertBird
By no means am I trying to be a dick, however, you really don't need the recruiter for anything. I'm a sister-service applicant and I've been able to find everything through USAREC and calling around. I was an E-5 prior Navy with 4 years experience. I'm still with the Individual Ready Reserves but only until Sept. of this year. I would like it if I didn't have to go to a recruiter but I would have a ton of questions to ask and the only internet I have is at work and their firewall will not allow me to use the search bar for whatever reason. I'm sorry that I'm not contributing to this topic but, if anyone has a link to someone who's putting in / put in a packet that was IRR then it would help me out a lot. I will also continue trying to get everything done without the recruiter as best as I can. Also, would I be required to together a civilian packet? There's not much difference I think. I am just basing by dates off of this: http://www.usarec.army.mil/hq/warrant/WOgeninfo_boardschedule.shtmlI don't have a link or document, but my recruiter has an excel spreadsheet with that submission deadline on it. I saw it yesterday. Take that for what it is, dates are always changing. I'm gonna play it safe and submit it on the USAREC website deadline just to be sure. Duckhawk
Just Got my paacket submitted! Such a great feeling!
