Creep0321
1 CH-47DTypo? Fox model I'm assuming. Or did something just go real crazy at Rucker, not saying that's not possible.

CharyouTree
  Yeah hopefully it will be more of a Tilt-rotor type in the future. I'd love the ability to log FW & RW hours at the same time.I don't think that's how that works.  I mean...you can log anything you want. But when it comes down to it, if you roll into a job interview with 3000 hours in the osprey and they say "sorry, we don't count that as helicopter time" you're out of luck. It seems that the tilt-rotor is technically powered-lift, but what that really means is...nothing, yet. There's no civilian equivalent out there to get a job in, so you're left with rotary or fixed, and there's at least one person on this forum that was told flat out they didn't count his osprey time for the position.

Maybe i'll reach out to the SUPT guys at rucker and see what they are logging for the CV-22 over at the Corporation..... There will be a referendum on this stuff soon though. Augusta is releasing the 609 some time in the near future. Hopefully the FAA won't classify it like a balloon or the airship nonsense. Creep0321
Anyone have the excel spreadsheet to keep track of your own grades through flight school?Don't even try to. The weights of things are ever changing. Just do well. The people in my class that had the spreadsheets, eventually realized: 1) they are not perfectly accurate, and in a class were positions are separated by hundredths or thousandths of a point, accuracy means a lot and 2) even if they knew their GPA, they didn't know there position in the class, which us really all that matters as far as selection.
Dmurray
If you pay attention to how well your peers do you should have a general idea of where you stand. Ultimately, you won't know for certain until selection.

Your better off not spending the time and energy to figure it out, spend an extra few minutes studying and not worry about everyone else, who you can't control anyway.
Tearsuvscarlet
I had just heard of several instances when someone's gpa was calculated incorrectly by cadre, and knowing what you scored on everything can help deal with that. Primarily entire grades were left out. Yea, if you were rocking 93s and up on your checkrides with no test failures and pick last, you know something is wrong. By all means keep a record of your grades. But trying to constantly compare yourself to the folks around you, is a waste of time, in my opinion. If you want a certain aircraft, work hard and hope for the best.
Drew
Checkrides are weighted heavy, WOBC counts more than you think, and do well on your selection APFT. It's pointless trying to calculate it exactly, but you will know about what your overall OML will be. If you average 93s on all your checkrides and 98s on your academic tests, your average will be in the high 94s low 95s (which will be at the top of the class), assuming you did well in WOBC and your APFT. There is no excuse to not do well on your academic tests, they spoon feed it to you. If you study the handouts, you'll ace every test. You can get unlucky with certain graders on checkrides, but if you prove yourself to your IP, your put up score by them can outweigh the check pilot score, so push hard every day and it will pay off.

Lindsey
You won't know your class rank until it matters (at selection), so the only thing you can do is apply maximum effort in all areas. That's all it comes down to, really. You're not going to pole-vault five people in the OML magically by knowing you're #6, you're going to do it by applying maximum effort and studying smartly and effectively. It's an individual effort but you're all in it together--lean on your peers and in turn, help them out. Study in groups. But also go out and enjoy yourself. Go kayaking down in Florida, go deep sea fishing. Because you can be God's gift to aviation and be hell-bent on X airframe, and have that airframe not be available at all on selection day, because Army. So do your best, enjoy yourself, make some lifelong friends. And accept that some things are just simply out of your control (that's the hardest bit).
