TriViper
A few of you mentioned knowing NG guys going through WOFT in their late 30s / early 40s. Were they already military rated, but just training for a new aircraft? If not, what was their background, credentials like that justified them getting an age waiver at such an old age? In fact the 40 yr old student had no flying experience at all. He was prior enlisted Navy. Don't recall any of my older students having any civilian ratings either. Had a few young ones that were prior CFIs though. 10 yrs ago there were a lot of people going thru flight school in their mid 30s with waivers. I never kept up with board percentages back then but I heard from several students saying they were in the 90 % acceptance.

thomas_skinner
I am active duty, prior service and am 34, and currently in UH60M course. I will be 35 before I leave Rucker, so they will take you at a later stage in life. Just make sure your packet is STRONG.

Flying Pig
When I put in for the CA Army Guard, I was 36. Dual rated, about 2000hrs with 8 yrs prior service and my age waiver was denied. This was about 3 yrs ago.
