AFmarksman
The application checklist states that the board uses ERBs to verify GT scores, but sister-service applicant ERBs only have the unconverted scores. The checklist places the GT conversion down in the Supporting Documents section ("These documents are required to qualify your packet, but will not be reviewed by the board"). Does the board actually see the converted Army GT scores of sister-service applicants?
Lmannino
They don't even really care about the Gt score.. The DVB is really used to verify decorations and performance reports. (To my knowlege)
AFmarksman
Nuts. I was hoping that they used it as part of the rack & stack. Maybe they use it as more of a discriminator for civilian applicants since a lot of them dont have a military background to review?
Lmannino
I believe the SIFT score would have a greater impact for selection and most say that doesn't even matter

It seems the common denominators among active duty selectees (at least as of late) have been great LORs and a great resume with demonstrated excellence/leadership. AFmarksman
I just ran into an interesting issue: My local Army recruiting office pulled a REDD report for me that listed my Army GT as 134. I sent that along with the "ASVAB conversion/SIFT request" letter signed by my commander to HRC. The letter I received back authorized me to take the SIFT and converted my Air Force G score to an Army GT of 137. So now I have two different Army GT scores... Will two different scores in the "REDD Report/GT Conversion" part of the packet look suspect? Have any other sister-service personnel run into something like this? I'm still waiting for my scores to come back from HRC, trying to get as much done before my deployment and knock it out after.
Lmannino
4 is directly below 7 on the keypad. I'm sure it was a typo. You do not submit the authorization to take the sift with your packet, it is only needed to take the test. With that being said, you will submit your Redd report and your sift score sheet. They'll never see the typo and it won't be an issue.. -Airforce applicant

I thought the packet had to include the original certification letter because of this blurb on the USAREC site: "Those individuals who request to take the SIFT must take a copy of the letter certifying their ASVAB scores to the nearest Army Education Center or testing facility in order to schedule the exam with them. Original letter must accompany application packet for the Warrant Officer Program."
Creep0321
That letter was not in my packet, only my REDD report, and SIFT results.

I'll leave the letter out. Thanks for setting me straight, gentlemen.
