I need someone else's helicopter to smack off the pavement. Not my mine. Lunsford doesn't have their own aircraft. They use yours. The pilots in my unit are all CFI's. So thats not the issue.

I just didnt know if there was a version of "Western Helicopters" somewhere in FL I didnt know about.

Correct sir.

Tomlinson seemed like a good op. I talked to the owner. But he also makes his living doing Ag and other contracts. We can do all the training we want just not full downs. I get it..... The man also makes a living with his helicopters outside of flight training.

Now that being said, if we used his 300s instead we could smack them off the pavement all day long.

I'm not to worried about full downs. But would be nice if I'm already paying for the ride. But not a deal breaker.

We have a 206L4 at KPMP, don't know if the owner allows full downs. I'll have to check. We don't do NVG, but the chief pilot works at the sheriffs office and has a lot of NVG experience.

I don't think you will find a flight school anywhere in the US that will let you do full downs in a 206.

Most likely true, except for Bell Helicopter Training Academy. They do full down autos 5 days a week- day, night and NVG in 206B's, L-4's and 407's. But you WILL pay for that training. The current price for the 5 day initial 407 course is over $15K and the 2 day refresher is over $8K. It is good training, but they have just about priced themselves out of reach for many operators and smaller LE agencies, in my opinion.

Places like Homestead and Hillsboro would probably do it. And, let’s face it; there is a market for it with the decline of such training in the ab-initio schools. Why no one capitalizes on the need for “advanced” training is beyond me. Ya’d think with the increase of safety awareness that this kind of training would become more available. Shoot, any investors out there who want to enter into a “start-up” let me know. I have a program and high time CFI’s in hand ready to go……
