Creep0321
You'll have plenty of time. The guard/reserve guys show up on the report day. That is when things get hectic. Thanks for the reply. So other than getting my initial uniform issue, and buying anything else I need at the exchange, what will be going on those first 6 days before the "report date"? shainbourassa
I'm guard so I showed up on the report day. Most of the active guys in my class went out drinking every night before the report day. I think you might end up doing cq a few times. You'll inprosses which only takes a day. You won't be issued a wocsop till the report day. However if you get your hands on one you could stencil your stuff.

cwil7280
Don't get crazy and sew on your trouser braids and get your ASUs ready as soon as you get to Rucker. The TACs will inspect what is IN your locker and possession. That being said, the PX and an off post alterations shop will come to you while you're in training and take your stuff that you need alterations on. They will keep it until pretty close to graduation. That way you can get all that sh*t that you don't need out of your locker for almost the entire 5-7 weeks. All that will be required is for you to hang up the receipt on the hanger in place of the missing item. I made the mistake of getting everything done before WOCS and then still paid to get everything "cleaned" just to get it out of my locker. shainbourassa
Yeah the start date is when bag drag will start, report will be I think 4 days prior. Which is meant to stencil, learn the sop, learn dfac procedures and what not. Me personally I found it much better to just have the ASU stuff in the locker, they won't toss it since its your dress uniform, if it's not right they just move it; and once it's correct it doesn't get touched. Also, I showed up with my stuff stenciled and it eliveated all the stress. Some guys were up pass midnight every night trying to get it done. It isn't hard though

I'd like to get a leg up.
Creep0321
Gotcha, I will try to stencil some of the crap before the report date than. Also any guess as to whether initial uniform issue will be in ACU or the new Scorpion pattern?
shainbourassa
Pretty sure it is still acu for a while. As for the wocsop, it's a controlled item so you really aren't suppose to get/see it before hand I had a digital copy. I think a bunch of guys were getting them from the hanger though
dirtyfoot
Â Any idea where to get the latest WOCSOP before reporting? I'd like to get a leg up. Honestly man, and I totally understand wanting to be proactive because I was all about it as well, but you don't need the WOCSOP in advance. WOCS is stupid simple. The only reason I don't completely resent the experience is because of the potential aviators that it (unbelievably)still manages to filter out.
MichaelRyanSD
I'm erring on the side of using UCP and older army PT uniform, trashing/losing uniforms may occur, so I'd rather it be the two uniforms I don't care about anymore. Also, my report date is Oct 4, but the class start date is Oct 14, anyone know why such a big In-process time? Looking forward to spending Thanksgiving with you guys. I wound up speaking to a few civilians, S-1, a few CW4's, and a first sergeant. Basically they want all aviation candidates there 10 days prior, to in process, but I was told it won't take that long. Due to labor day weekend I will be arriving 6 days early.
Yamer
It literally takes two days. Only those coming to wocs PCS have the early report date. Guard comes in TDY and reports closer to class start date
Creep0321
Even for interservice guys who need uniforms and everything?
TachedOutOffRoad
The 10 days is just a buffer. Dentist, marking gear, prior service getting uniforms, but mostly for guys PCSing. There is PT and cleaning up everyday for those of you without appointments. PCSing before WOCs is what takes the time: kids in school, on post housing, blah blah. Id just wait until after to PCS personally. Take the 10 days permissive to go home and get a condo in Enterprise.

TachedOutOffRoad
It may have been decided for you then. I came off AD, into the guard the next day, then back on orders two weeks later for flight school. My roommate and buddies were active duty. They moved their stuff to storage before wocs, then took 10 days after to find a place and actually move in.
BM1
Has anyone recently gone to wocs straight from BCT? My report date is the monday following bct graduation in thursday. The cadre here is telling privates they must report to thier respective AIT's the following day regardless of what your orders say if your transporting yourself. To me a report date is a report date but coming from the Navy there are still alot of differences and the level of misinformation here is as bad as anywhere. Can we expect the same couple days of downtime the other posters have mentioned before we class up? Hoping to PCS after wocs as well.
wcropper
The report date is the report date, unless your orders say you can report earlier or later. If you are pcsing for flight school, you will report here and have about 10 days to inprocess unless, again, your orders say otherwise.

You will sign in at HHC and be assigned a room. DO NOT show up in ASU's since you will most likely leave BCT in them. Guess who made that mistake. Change into ACU's at the airport in Dothan. You will have most of the packing list just from BCT. Take the time to square away your gear and get your stenciling done. Mostly try and relax, calm before the storm kinda thing. Â You will get a lot of rumor mill stuff about the pcs after wocs. All of us had to get amended order since none of us were authorized pcs travel after basic so anticipate that. Its a quick fix just aggrivating.
Seth G.
Alright, I need an honest opinion. My old UCP pattern ACUs have seen better days. I have new multi-cam uniforms issued to me for a deployment that was cancelled. I know that they are permitted to be worn in WOCS, however, will this draw unnecessary attention to myself? I would like to refrain from purchasing ACUs that are in the process of being phased out, yet I don't want to be "that guy."
Yamer
They are mixed like crazy right now from what I've seen so you should be good to go.
Seth G.
Awesome, I appreciate it. As time gets closer, I begin to feel a little more nervous about getting everything squared away. I also just spent the last of my clothing allowance on the new PTs, which potentially could have been a bad idea, but too late now.
Yamer
They're wayyyyyyyy more comfortable to work out in. Shirt breaths better, stays drier.
Seth G.
Agreed. I gave them a test run a few weeks back, very happy with them. Never did like the gray PTs.
