Scheduling a flight physical

Recommended Posts

Awesome. I'm pretty similar to you. Never broken any bones, no allergies, 20/20 vision. Had my share of trips to the ER but nothing ever really serious.

I'll be trying to do mine at Fort Bliss when I'm there next month. We will see!!

My goal is the March deadline for the May board. I'd love to shoot for the January deadline but I won't even be back in the states till mid December.

Does anyone know 100% what the deadline for civilians is when it comes to the boards? I was told the deadline on USAREC is only for active members and that civilians can submit their packets up until a few weeks before the board convenes.

I haven't even heard of that. If that is true, I might be better off than I though! I'd love to get a better answer.

Which board are you shooting for, Brian?

That is fantastic. Thanks StockTrader!

Looks like I will make the March board after all. :D

I just had my dental portion done today. I've got it signed acceptable with class II. Anyone have any issues with class II? I know typically it doesn't count against you. Is the there any difference with the flight program?

USAREC is for everyone. It is the US Army RECruiting Board. It is the paper board all our packets go to from our respective battalions. The next USAREC Board is January 11th -15th. Deadline for the board is the 1st of January, I believe. Battalion Boards are going to be different for each battalion.

Hope that helps a bit. Your recruiter should have a Memorandum from your battalion regarding WOFT dates and deadlines.

I'll either be January or March, just depends on when I take my battalion board interview.

I was also Class II on the dental and like I said I got the stamp from Rucker.

Class II basically just means you need a cleaning/checkup done

Got some teeth pulled so I should be good to go as a Class 2 next week.

That's fantastic! I did most of my vision yesterday. They don't have the machines to do the retinal topography in theater so I'll have to wait til I redeploy for that.

I'm going for my labs tomorrow and then the final phase next week. I hope you make January. I won't be ready until March.

Good luck!

Greetings all,

This is my first post but have been following threads for a while. Lots of great info and advice on here.

Anyways,

I have been putting my packet together for a couple months now and my next step is my flight physical. Im scheduled for dec. 2nd and am shooting for the december battalion board and january USAREC board. Im wondering what the typical process is when you go through the flight physical and how long it usually takes for Rucker to approve it.

So you'll make January?

I'm going for January the only variable being that Rucker processes my flight phys in time. I will call Monday to at least verify they have it.

Murray, you're chipping away at it man. I'm sure I'll end up running into you at Rucker. I most likely have to do the 6 week WOCS since I don't have any military leadership courses and I was only an E-4 getting out of the Marines. You'll probably do the 4 week course.

WOCS will be 4 weeks for me, which is nice.

This physical is definitely taking time. You know what they say though, slow progress is still progress.

Finally have part 2 scheduled for Saturday.

Because of my location they will be submitting the physical without the HIV results or the corneal topography. The HIV test results take about a month to process here and I cannot do the corneal topography in theater.

The medical personnel told me they will submit the results when they come back. I will have to submit my corneal topography results to a flight surgeon, who will submit it to Fort Rucker.

Does anyone have any experience with submitting different parts of the physical? How is Rucker at tracking single items like that? I hope it does not delay my approval too long.
