Jberto89
If you're recruiter is actually willing to switch you to another battalion, it could work. I'm sure there is definitely a way, but his battalion wouldn't get "credit" if you will for all the work they've already done for your packet, a common misconception is that recruiters get no "credit" for putting WOFT candidates through. That however is not 100% accurate according to the recruiters I'm currently in ALC with. It doesn't count towards your monthly quota but it does help the battalions end of year numbers having woc/ocs candidates. Either way good luck I would definitely ask your recruiter instead of just dipping and driving to a different battalion. Just kind of a common curtesy thing that we all expect in the military.I wouldn't just bail on my recruiter without discussing it with him directly. Thanks for the information. rogersndr
I didn't make the battalion board deadline here in Nevada. January 28th. I know Arizona holds battalion boards monthly as opposed to every 90 days here, anyone have experiencing sidestepping to another battalion in order to make an earlier deadline for the USAREC board? My idea is if I could make the February battalion board in Arizona, then I could submit my paperwork in time for the May USAREC board; the deadline for that paperwork is March 18th. Possibility? Alternatives?I just did my board yesterday and I don't know their official policy, but they asked me when I wanted to have my board and then scheduled it on my time not theirs. I would suggest getting to whatever board you can under whichever Battalion. Your recruiter might be a little pissy about having put in the time for your packet, but that's his job. Waiting another 90 days for the next board when you could potentially do it much sooner isn't worth another notch on his recruit count.

rogersndr
It seemed to go pretty well. They said I would know the results in a week, but my recruiter said I would likely know today. There were just two of us for the board, myself as WOFT and a lady for OCS. I went first and it was the standard setup with the chair and 3 Officers. They just asked interview type questions like what are my strengths and weaknesses, accomplishment I've had that I'm most proud of, why I chose the Army over any of the other branches, etc etc. I'm scheduled now to have my security interview on Tuesday but that might change due to the impending storm in the Midwest. Then just the wait until March for the board which I'll likely kill the time by traveling to Korea and China to visit a friend.

N67RA
Has anyone that got selected in January that is going to the shorter WOCS gotten a school date yet?I've exchanged some emails with a couple guys who were selected here at Ft Bliss back in November, and they said we should get access to the DL sometime in Feb. They have class dates for early March. Maybe that means May for us.
Pirate04
Brand new to this forum. Selected at the January Reserves board. I honestly thought I was so behind because I hadn't yet received a school date. I was hoping to be there by the March class but I'm losing that hope by the day. Pirate04
I will have to attend the longer WOCS and was told there are only two class dates per year, how can I find out when those class dates are? ATRRS shows several Phase 1 Resident classes.
UH60MCE
It's a Blackboard distance learning course for NCO's who've completed WLC. It's done online, and it shortens the length of WOCS by a couple weeks.
AGADD
Oh ok I knew there was a shorter course but didn't know we had to do a blackboard assignment. Thank you for the heads up
N67RA
I'm curious which aircraft people are interested in flying and why. I choose the Chinook because of its power, unique capabilities and diversity of missions. I believe the skills and experience would be most marketable in the civilian world of aviation.
