Karver
I'm not sure if this was discussed a little already, but can Air Guard members be selected into an Army Guard WOFT slot in the middle of their enlistment term? Would an Air guardsman have an easier process than an Air Force Reservist, for example?
mxg0166
As long as your unit signs a DD368 you are good. I was AL Air Guard but that doesn't make it easier. Only difference is it's easier to get the DD368 since it goes to your first O6 instead of manpower if you were on active duty. That only saves you a few weeks though. Dnr032
Why are you asking the same question you did here last week? I thought I did an OK job of answering your question...... I guess not. http://helicopterforum.verticalreference.com/topic/19446-inter-service-transfer/
Karver
Why are you asking the same question you did here last week? I thought I did an OK job of answering your question...... I guess not. http://helicopterforum.verticalreference.com/topic/19446-inter-service-transfer/ I guess I didn't state my question correctly. What I would really like to know is: can I be selected for an Army Guard WOFT slot while still being in the Air Guard? Then, once selected, can I make the transfer to Army Guard? Your previous responses were very thorough -- I just didn't do a good job wording my question.
Creep0321
Research conditional release, dd368. The answer is yes.
Yamer
Yes but depending on your air guard job you might need BCT to become army guard.
Karver
can I be selected for an Army Guard WOFT slot while still being in the Air Force Reserve? Then, once selected, can I make the transfer to Army Guard? I had a similar question above related to the Air Guard. But not sure if being the AF Reserve would change things. kona4breakfast
If you want to eventually get a flight school slot in the Army Guard, join THAT unit because you'll need people in that unit to recommend you. Karver, if you want personal advice, a little more background information would be useful, as you've asked several different questions across different threads about various personnel actions. Unless you're asking for a friend, I can only assume you're in the Air Guard, or talking to an Air Guard recruiter, but that you eventually want to fly, or maybe become an Army officer, or maybe you just want to shoot guns out of a Chinook. The specific answers that people have given to your specific questions don't seem to be enough.
