Whens your battalion board deadline? The only reason I'm not making the March Board is cause the deadline for my battalion board just passed.

Packet submission is mid March. To my understanding the BNS board interview is held after that deadline up to ten days before the big board. Please correct me if i'm wrong. Please.

That should be right because your packet deadline is like 10 days before the board for civilians(I'm assuming your civilian) since you're talking about battalion boards.

The WO recruiter told me slots this year almost doubled, can anyone comfirm this?

I would love to make this board, but I know it won't happen. I have my flight physical at Drum on March 7th, then i'll still have to get my 368 approved. Good luck to those applying though, hopefully i'll only be a couple months behind you.

Got that SIFT done today. Pumped. I bombed the hidden figures 23/50 but I don't think I missed a math question. If I had been more on the ball with my physicals I guess I could have made the March board. Don't mind waiting to much though to make sure everything looks good.

What kind of feedback have you received having an enlisted LOR? I've thought about getting one, but wasn't sure how much weight it would carry, but I also see street to seaters getting picked up with LORs from soccer coaches and preachers so...

It was suggested to me by my recruiter. Just like any service Army officers are taught to respect senior NCO's especially E9's. If you have an E9 or a senior E8 that can write a really good personal LOR I would suggest it, but that's coming from an applicant not a selectee. I hope the board has the same respect for them that I do.

I was recently selected in the January board. As Enlisted working in the maintenance department, the maintenance department Senior Chief was way more familiar with my work ethic and accomplishments having associated with me on a daily basis; much more so than any Officers whom I requested a letter from. Every time I re-read my recommendation letters while reviewing my package it was 100% apparent that his letter came from a very personal place and there was no room for doubt as to how well this man knew me, respected me and supported my decision to join the Army. The letters I submitted from higher ranking individuals (2 x O-5, O-4, CW4) were more than outstanding testaments to my character and productivity but there is no substitute for a heart-felt letter from someone who has personally watched you grow from a worker to a leader over the years, no matter what pay-grade they may be (I wouldn't go below an E-8 due to seniority and credibility though).

I would think a LOR from a senior enlisted that knows you personally would hold some good weight. One of my LORs is from an E9 who was my First Sergeant before he got promoted. I'm a reservist as well. I definitely hope they hold them high.

When I submitted my packet, I had a LOR from an E9 from SOCOM included. The board seemed to pay more attention to that LOR, than the LOR I had from my CO, SCO, or the CW5 I had included. Granted it was from SOCOM, but it was still a LOR from an E9 that they accepted in the packet. I would go above and beyond what they say needs to be in the packet... if you're lower enlisted, I would have a LOR from a squad leader or PLT SGT/ LDR also. They work with you the most, and would know you better than anyone else in the required LOR's.

What can I do to improve? Will my moral wavier be a problem?

If it's been approved no. If it hasn't possibly. The board members get the admin side of your packet the qualifying side stays with the recruiters/proponent. Waivers fall in the latter category. So a waiver will neither hurt or help your selection. Moral waivers are accepted on a case by case basis, I'm sure your military records speak volumes to the person who you've become versus who you were at age 19.
