Wifeofburns
Hello. My husband is currently active in the marine corps and has a little more than 6 months left on his contract but his conditional release has been approved. He has been working on his WOFT packet for a few month and is still having problems. None of the recruiters he has talked to answer his questions or one says one thing and another says something different. He is really wanting to get everything submitted by the May deadline. Is there anyone that has done this or is trying to do this that could help us out? Thanks

Creep0321
Problem one, applying as an active component Marine, he still needs to meet the 12 month time on contract, so he either needs to extend or re-enlist, or wait till he is out and apply as a civilian.

JPdotA
I suggest he knocks his flight physical and SIFT while he's still in active duty. I feel like it would be easier for him to have access to an army medical as an active duty marine vs as a civilian. Which base are you guys station in?
Wifeofburns
We are at miramar. He said since he doesn't have much time until the he has to have his packet turned in he might just do a lat move and reenlist and continue to work on his packet. Creep0321
That may be the best option, only if he would be happy with the lat move as a career, incase WOFT doesn't work out.
flyplz94
I'm an active Marine and just got selected. Because he is within a year to EAS he can submit with the civilians. Make sure your package is complete and walk it into the recruiters. If they are lazy go to another office. Do this until you find someone who will submit your package and get you onto a Battalion board! PM me if you want to be shown the way. I'm sorry I didn't see this message earlier.

JMTeixeira
Are there any prior active duty/mobilized reservists Marine Officers who transitioned to the WOFT program on here? I have been researching for the past year and the consensus seems to be that I would need to resign my officer commission with the Marines and then apply to the WOFT program as a civilian... Does anyone have further info on this?
