Brian101193
So if we're all playing BF together, who gets to fly the helicopter? Do we do some kind of three way tiebreaker or take turns?

Hah, I'll be honest, a lot of real life tactics used to work very well in that game.

steve0
July is going to be my second look. I have updated my packet with 2 recommendation letters from a Col and a CW5, a slightly higher APFT score, and some other minor updates. If I'm not selected second time around, any advice on my best course of action if not selected? I pretty certain I will just go in as enlisted and try again later, but I just turned 30. What are the realistic chances I can get another packet in before I reach the age cutoff?
shmoeser
Wow when I look at what you guys have to offer for this upcoming board it has me a little worried about my chances. I have been working on my packet since last November, but because I am on recruiting detail it was especially difficult to get the medical process done. Does anyone know if they release the AAR's for the boards to see what it was they were looking at. Here is my information. Age:30SIFT: 61APFT: 258 Military Experience: 68W 8 yrs TIS. with 3 deployments. Schooling in SHARP, Recruiting, and Healthcare Recruiting.Civilian Education: AS in Health Sciences, Graduated with honors. Currently working on BS in Health and Wellness with a 3.6 GPA.Flight Physical: DoneLOR: CO (CPT), BC (LTC), CW4 flight, (extra LTC letter so that I could present more than just recruiting command letters.) What are the realistic chances I can get another packet in before I reach the age cutoff? Have your stats changed since the 5th? Just updated my pt, got it up to 295. Civilian, going for 2nd look, didn't get picked up in March Age: 30Afqt/Gt: 99/142Sift: 75Apft: 295Bachelor degree: economics (low gpa though, 2.4, f*cked off my first 2 years before getting it together)Lor: 2 former bosses, 1 martial arts coach, 1 retired Col, 1 CW5 national guardLASIK No flight hours Still waiting on one last lor, hoping to get another CW5, he said he will review my packet and let me know if I can come in for an interview. Biggest difference this board is the lor s from the officers. Didn't know anyone in the army, so the day after I didn't get selected in March I just started cold calling bases and sending messages to unit pages on Facebook. Looked up local news articles about army helicopters, the photos would usually have a caption with the pilots name, I would look them up on Facebook and send a message. Eventually got in touch with some good people, got a mini tour of the local apache unit. Really learned a lot by sitting down and talking to the pilots. I don't have a package together yet, so all I can say is good luck!

From what I have heard, there is no information released on what the boards look for. I would just say get the APFT up and you should be pretty competitive with AD applicants with all the educations and qualifications you have.Do you need any waiver? If not, I think you have a good package overall.

The PT test probably isn't going to happen because it is like a circus trying to get someone to do the PT test while in Recruiting.
Esdras_R
I don't think you have anything to worry about with medical, I had a waiver. Your stats look similar to where mine were, you have a higher SIFT score so I'm sure that will help. I think you will do well. I would say that your NCOER's will probably hold a good amount of weight.
