July 2016 Selection Board

Recommended Posts

Please tell people at the bars outside Fort Rucker that you're a flight school student. Oh man, will people be impressed.

Shame on the recruiter who has met you and continues to help process your paperwork.

I'll be rooting for you though. Our current fridge guy has a lot of potential so it'd be nice to get a career fridge person into the unit and give him a better additional duty. Maybe you could pull all of our staff duty too.

My recruiter told me that my packet was the best that he had seen in seven years of recruiting.. I was in a pretty good mood that day.

-Oh man! Ill be honest I've never been called a "career fridge person." You sure do know how to make someone feel defeated.

Oh and btw I've got private pilots license, for single-engine fixed-wing aircraft. And every girl I've told that too, at least pretended to be interested in it..

I hope you will make another attempt at insulting me or whatever it was that you were trying to do. I know you can do better!!

Yes, I'm feeding the troll. Sorry.

Sure, bring up a SEL at the bar as a conversation starter. Thats an awesome hobby and I wish I had the spare time to fly on the side. However, I'm going to fill you in here that army aviation is full of all the people you can't even get along with on this semi professional forum. This is no hobby and most are deeply committed to serving the nation; a fact that you derided earlier. I've spent 12 years in army aviation, though only 3 as a pilot.

If this is your personality, then you just won't mesh with the rest of us (it's not you, it's me?). Do you think brand new PC Lindsey (about when you'd be graduating) will recommend you at a PC board? Would I? You need to reflect a bit and calm your tits, or figure out another career goal.

Maybe you just don't represent well on the Internet. Doubt it. Most of the time Internet you is fairly close to regular you.

Edit: 7 years of recruiting? Opinion instantly discounted. Seriously wtf.

You have absolutely NO IDEA what you're talking about.

You're also showing us a severely immature mouth/mentality, which I assume would be why you haven't been selected yet... Along with loufynerd and the others that can't control themselves on here.

A lot of you fail to remember that there are people on here that are board members, and this can all be viewed via Google search.

Um? How have I not controlled myself?

Hey guys,

Sorry this isn't in regards to the trolling but I have a legitimate question. I was told last week that I needed a grade determination waiver. I haven't seen any information about this type of waiver so can someone explain it to me? More importantly, how quickly would one of these grade determination waivers be processed and added to my packet? To add - I was in the USMC Reserve for 8 years and was an E5 for 3 years.

I have to do the same thing. I'm an E-6 in the Army Reserve. My recruiter said he just needed my most recent promotion orders and the waiver could be done at the recruiter station. I don't think it's an actual waiver. Just part of the paperwork for the Army.

For reference, I'm going to the recruiting station Tuesday to finalize the paperwork. I'll be finishing the paperwork and doing the waiver then submitting the packet.

Ok I think I'll be alright then. I've looked around for waiver timelines or how to expedite the process but it seems as if this type of waiver/request goes up to the CG of USAREC. Anyway, I hope it comes back quickly so I can be ready for a Battalion Board and then on to July.

Any other civilians out there? I feel the lack of applicants for the May board will create an excess for the July board.

Just to clarify, the grade determination waiver is a battalion level waiver. My recruiter was saying it shouldn't take any longer than 48 hours

So lets take a look at some facts.

1. I have looked back through your posts and cant find where you have posted your stats anywhere.

2. despite the fact that you claim to be an applicant you are giving advice like you are a seasoned aviator. Most of which you have no clue on.

3. you are calling applicants and active officers derogatory names like faggot and pussy.

4. in past posts you have claimed that most people with high sift scores on here are lying despite not giving any evidence to contradict the claims other than your own imagination. And going back to number 1 you haven't shared your scores.

5. you have posted that you don't want to help other applicants because they would be competition.

6. you are telling veterans that in the northeast they use AH64 Apache helicopters that seat 2 people to transport officers around when a Blackhawk has a lower CPFH and can fit more people. This to me just points to the fact you have no clue what you are talking about or our military is highly inefficient in ways I have never seen.

I'm sure there are more things that you have done but in my mind that is more than enough to stamp you a troll trying to stir up trouble. I hope that if you are not a troll that you just don't know how to represent yourself on the internet or that I am misreading your posts. But if you are not a troll and you truly believe what you are saying then I wouldn't want you as a private in the army much less an Aviation Warrant Officer. With all due respect check your attitude and eat some humble pie.

Well I guess technically the 64 does move Officers around, the pilots riding are moving around in the sky lol

Hey Guys,

So I'm new to the forum but have a couple questions...

My packet is currently submitted to the July civilian board, but I'm a little nervous about the selection since the May board was canceled. I'm a prior Marine UAV operator/ current civilian contractor flying and mission commanding UAV's in theater, going on my 8th trip to Afghan. I don't have any actual manned pilot time other than just ground school laser grade, but over 3000 hrs of UAV aviation time. I didn't do great on the SIFT only scoring a 57 which was pretty disappointing. But I'm hoping my LOR's including a current 82nd deputy CG as well as a retired Marine O5 Aviator as well as an O4 and O3 Marine Aviator hold some weight. My PT was a 282 which Im working on getting to a 300. I have about 4 semesters worth of school but no degrees. Does anyone know what the selection rate for civilian boards usually is? Also I left active duty in December of 2012 and my IRR time expired in March, I've looked around and haven't been able to find any concrete answers as to whether or not I'd have to attend Army BCT. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Good luck to everyone in July! I wont be making it for this round, and I'm super heartbroken about it. It's been a long road here with several discouraging hurdles and I've managed to overcome every one of them. Until now, 3 days shy of Battalion board I received word I've been denied on my eyes. Real high test scores, 5 LoR from CW4's, a killer essay, and now a brick wall.
It's rough, and depressing, but I haven't given up. Looking into Lasik/PRK and seeing what I can do.

Seriously though, if anyone's worked as hard and as long as I have on this journey, and you want this as bad as I do, I hope to God you get it, because you deserve it and I wish you all the best. I'll catch up behind you someway, somehow.

Cheers and GOOD LUCK!
