July 2016 Selection Board

Recommended Posts

I believe the list of selected candidates has already been released for July, most of the people here found out their status with in the last few days.

Yes that is true, the civilian list has been released, however the individuals on Active duty have to wait until the Milper message has been released.

So the May board the results were posted the Wednesday after the board ended. Hopefully we find out by then, Friday at the latest. The anticipation is driving me nuts!

I can feel your frustration as well, the whole 49/50 of the Civilians getting picked up has raised my nervousness 100%.

I am a civilian applicant, I contacted HRC and know that I was selected. I want to enlist as soon as possible but my recruiter is telling me that he has to wait till the official list comes out. Then it has to be scanned in and then I can process at MEPS.

How are some of you enlisting on Tuesday. Why don't you guys have to wait for the official list. Is there a way to get around this?

FQ/S here! I slept much better Tuesday night thanks to Squid! Just for the sake of information, I'm an active duty Marine and many of the Marines I have talked to think they can't do a interservice transfer. I am here to tell you not only can you do it but if you are within a year of your EAS you can be boarded with the civilians. I didnt know this til my CW5 interview. It took me about 2 years to do. If you want more specific information just PM me.

The bread and butter of any package I think is your Letter of Recommendations. I grew u p right outside of Fort Rucker and EVERYONE has told me that. Once you get six influential active duty LOR's everything additional is just the toppings. I don't have any college as of right now and NO deployment history (been at a training base my whole time active and it's my first contract- Admin) I wouldn't have had a chance on the Active Duty board in my opinion. Needless to say, I'm psyched for this opportunity. Been watching those choppers fly over since I could remember. Best of luck to everyone selected and everyone still gunning for a spot. See you guys at Rucker!

Just curious where are you stationed? I just got out of the Corps in Nov 15. Looking to go up on the Sept. Board civilian side.

Im not entirely sure, I don't see a reason why you would have to wait. I can only suggest to get a confirmed deadline from your recruiter of when this might happen so they don't forget. I know theres only til Aug 2nd to enlist-I believe. Good Luck.

If you are getting the run around from you recruiter, or have questions, call up someone above your recruiter, meps or something. Whoever your recruiting office reports to. Someone who knows what's going on.

Leave Meps 26th of September. Start on the 13th of October.

Nice! What's with the gap in leave date and start date? Do you know if that course is at capacity?

I would imagine they leave space for in-processing. Also different Basic Training classes probably end at different dates. I've got the same gap. Leave MEPS 28 September. Although, I don't have to do basic training.

Alas, I did not, I will be doing the 7 week cycle. Im assuming you've already done WLC, will you be doing a 5 week cycle?

I have but the currently have me slotted for "7 weeks and 2 days." No one at MEPS today gave me a straight answer. Even though on the WOCS site it says "NCOs who are fully qualified/selected (FQS) and fall into one of the following categories are required to complete the Phase 1 (DL) instead of the resident."I suppose that is something I will have to hash out in the coming weeks.

Edit: selectees might want to check out these two sites
