Frustrated with army recruiter

I've been with a regular army recruiting office for 2 years now. It feels like I am doing all the work and nothing is getting done. I've driven myself to everything and done nearly everything I have been able to do myself.

 

Do I have to continue with this recruiter or is it possible that the WO recruiters are more helpful?

You can request to work with a different recruiter or try a different station. WO recruiters are for current active duty members I believe. How much of your packet is completed so far?

ive got the sift, asvab, 3 LOR's done. So much time has passed that my flight physical and meps physicals have expired. One of the things he was jerking me around about was 2 tickets I had, 1 for speeding and 1 for running a stop sign. The one I got for speeding was 11 years ago, the one for the stop sign was 5 years ago and I went to traffic school for it. He told me at first that it would be okay, but months later after difficult communication tells me that I would not be eligible. How are you supposed to determine this? I've heard from friends that have had traffic tickets that I should be fine.

I literally have the same tickets (in a shorter time period) and nobody has said it will be a problem to me. If you only have a total of two, the only thing that should matter is how much the tickets were for. I believe you only need a waiver for $300+ tickets but that might be inaccurate. Either way there is a waiver process, you shouldn't just be "ineligible."

That's what everyone keeps telling me but its like he was playing dumb with me or was just new...I am not sure. I think one of them was over 300, but that was the one that was 11 years ago. Is that something still needed for a waiver even though it was that far back?

I'm working with a Warrant Officer Strength Manager (Warrant recruiter) and he's been worth his weight in gold. The enlisted recruiter I had to use for the SIFT/ASVAB/MEPS physical, not so much. I'd encourage you to touch base with a WOSM and see if they'd be willing to help you out, even if most cases they handle are for current military. I'm my WOSM's first street-to-seat and he's still been great.

I think they ran them through some sort of system with the local police offices, but nothing came back (they were almost all from a different state). FYI, I didn't need a waiver of any sort.

I had a similar issue with a recruiter that didn't know the process. I called around after about 3 weeks and found another recruiter a few towns over and they have been super helpful. I also had to get a waiver for a $300+ speeding ticket from 10 yrs ago but it wasn't an issue. I would say just find another station. 2 years though? no offense it sounds like you're not trying hard enough.

Hahaha! Yes, some were from that sick celica! And the 9 other cars and motorcycles I owned.

Funny thing is I made this username almost 10 years ago, and I just used it because it was the same username I used on the Celica forums...lol. Didn't expect that I'd be on here much. Ironically, paying for flight school (on the civlian side) is the reason I ended up selling it!

I had this hill billy; sorry I am a damn yankey. I was not even considering becoming an Army Aviator. He knew I had my Private License. So, he asks me if I would like to give it a try. I say why not. My enlistment MOS was instrument calibration at Lowery AFB. About fours months after I started I had my seat at Mother Rucker. This was in 85. For me, I think the RECRUITING BN needed to meet the quota in Detroit. Went to Ft Knox to In-Process. One week later I was a snow-bird, waiting for a WOEC seat for 7 months. Don't know much about a recruiters duties though. And we were appointed as E-5s all the way through to graduation.

For those of you that have switched recruiters, how did you get your paperwork transferred? I feel like my recruiter is too focused on putting her on packet in for OCS and is not helping me at all. It takes her two to three days to answer most of my texts and she said that is her preferred method of communication??? Do I ask her for a copy of everything or do I just talk to a different recruiter get the paperwork from her?

I just went into another office, they were able to pull it over digitally.
