First time submitting, graduated HS in May

Age: 18

ASVAB/GT: 94/127

SIFT: 58

APFT: 300

Physical: Finished part 2 today, no problems

Edu: 3.5 GPA in High School

LORs: CW3 (Ret.), SF CSM (family friend), CW4 (Reserves), 47 Crew Chief(VP of neighboring HS)

Also have a very personal LOR from a higher up police officer who was a former marine, but I think 4 LORs are fine.

I`m a little concerned over my GPA, was a little more focused on running than grades at the time.

No waivers, no notable flight time.

Anyone hear of any High School to Flight School guys getting in recently?

Thank you

Cody

First off, you have some pretty good stats for someone coming straight out of high school. As far as recent selectees getting into WOFT straight from high I'm not entirely sure, there is bound to be somebody on here though. But there are TONS of street to seat people on here who may have better insight. Stay motivated! Best of luck

My stick buddy in the 47 course was a HS to flight school guy. Great guy. Not sure how often it happens, but also not sure how many HS kids actually get a decent looking packet together, which yours appears to be. Good luck.

First time submitting:

Age: 22
GT: 110
SIFT: 58
APFT: 258
Military: 3 years Army Reserve, Specialist
Flight hours: 220, have my PPL CPL, and am currently working on my CFI all part 141 ASES
Physical: In the process (actually struggling to schedule one as a reservist, but I guess the moderators did not let me post asking about that. I couldn't ind anything on the site about it so if anyone could send me the link to it that would be appreciated)
Civilian education: Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics 3.2 GPA
LORs: O-5(friend of family), CW5 from USARC,Current Company Commander

I'm fairly worried I wont be able to accomplish my flight physical in time. I have tried every place in central Fl from JAX, to Patrick and even Fort Bragg and Fort Dix. As of right now I'm in for August 11 at MacDill for part one but I don't think that will give me enough time to submit. Any tips? Thanks!

Luofynerd,

Run more 400s and 800s. 3 mile runs won't really have much of an impact on your 2 mile time. Of course running doesn't hurt, but I promise you more high intensity intervals will drastically improve your run time. Example -- Monday - 6 x 400m, run 1 walk 1. Keep them under 1:20. Tuesday rest, Wednesday 4 x 800m. Run 2 laps, walk 1. Keep them under 3 minutes. Thursday rest - Friday hit up your 3 mile. I used a plan like this when I was training for Ranger School and took my run time from 14:30 to 13:15 in about 4 weeks. Good luck!

BTW -- It's harder than it looks, just push lol.

Took a practice pt test today and ran a 12:56. Too bad it wasn't for record. Would've been a 300. Actual pt test is scheduled for 4 August so I'll keep on keepin on. Hopefully I'm feeling it on the 4th. My luck is I'll get a 260 when it comes down to the actual test.

Great job man! Got me beat lol, insane improvement based on the amount of time that took you to drop your run so much. I max my PU and SU everytime but my run is stuck in the 13:15 - 13:30 range

Well that last pt test was taken in February. Also it was taken in Afghanistan at 5000+ ft so I imagine that all factors.

Had to sit on my packet for almost a year due to Security clearance renewal. hopefully I get it in on time.

WHY? I contacted them because my clearance was taking too long (was on hold 3 address changes in less than 2 years but since the investigation was "open" I was told not to worry abut it and submit as it was and I got accepted and I'm board ready.

It wasn't a hold up at JPAS. My S2 updated their tracker saying it went to BDE and it had been sitting in a file cabinet.

Age: 24

- APFT: 300
- Military: E-5 USAF 5.7 years TIS, Human Resource Technician
- Civilian Education: Pursuing AD in Human Resources 3.1 GPA 42 credits

Not feeling too hot about my SIFT/GT score, but going to make sure my resume packet makes up for it. I have won many awards to include Airman of the Month X3, Airman of the Quarter, Airman of Year X2, Below the Zone an early promotion to E-4. Throughout my short 5.7 years in the Air Force, I have excelled past my peers and worked many NCO positions before becoming an NCO myself.

I see all the great status you all have and not going to lie I am a bit intimidated, but hey does that been choose to become Warrant Officers first submitted their package, as will I.

Best of luck to everyone!

OPAT next week, so I can send in that correction and get board ready. Feel stupid for missing that requirement. I blame it on the fact that I've already applied before so didn't look at any of the examples online. Does anyone know if you need to submit the whole form on the OPAT or is it just the DA 61 with the commanders endorsement? I looked at the example packet and all it had was the commanders endorsement

I just got done with my BN Board today (75/75) and one of the helping ladies mentioned that this board is being pushed back to November. She may have been talking about results being posted, but I`m fairly confident she was speaking about the board in general. I do not want to spread rumors if I misheard.

Has anyone heard any information or of something like this happening in a previous board?

Thanks

I highly highly doubt that is true. Honestly, a majority of the people you come in contact with during the pursuit of the WOFT program don't usually have their facts straight; at least in my case. I wouldn't believe anything other than USAREC's WO recruiting website. If there is any changes to board dates, major info, etc., they are extremely vigilant in getting the info put on the website. You need it on the da61. The new checklist has it listed as well, after the the security memo I believe. I had my results uploaded onto OMPF/ personnel file. The grade is 1 for black. Hope this helps and good luck.

I submitted the whole OPAT scorecard, it is listed as a requirement on the checklist. Interesting enough though it showed on the Milper I needed to complete the OPAT prior to attending WOCS.
