As for the engine, there is an Airworthiness Directive, 2017-18-14 that spells all this out. Apparently there are some new turbine wheels out there that are cracking. The FAA issued the AD, which calls for inspecting the wheels at, basically, the next time the engine goes to an engine shop. After that, essentially the life-limit of the #4 wheel is reduced from 4550 hours to 1775, same as the 1 & 2 wheels. Ouch. And, at 1775 hours while you're disassembling the turbine section to throw away your #4 wheel, the #3 still has to be inspected and tossed in the trash if any cracks are found.

As always, the devil is in the applicable part numbers. The good news is that the "old" (i.e. non-enhanced) wheels are not affected by the AD.

As Mike Rowe would say, at least that's the way I heard it.

That is going to hurt, I understand there is no manufacturers help regarding faulty component either.

Don't know why I did not see that AD.

If the MGB part is true a lot of 500HS & C will not be worth a lot.
