WyattR
As a young AD PFC here at FT Wainwright Im just starting the beginning processes of my packet, already passed the SIFT, next step is physical. Was wondering what are the odds of FW slots? If there is any. My sole interests in flight have always been FW and I really want to pursue that direction, any info would be appreciated! johnhenry
If you are in the top 2 of your class about 2/3. If you are #5-#10....not likely at all, but it does happen. That is right now. Could be totally different by the time you get here. edit: and btw if you get your packet in without any major problems you will get picked up right now. They are taking everybody with a pulse right now. I would recommend it even if you don't think you will get FW off the bat. Can always try to get it later, and helos are fun as fk. XIIGage
The C-12 is the most common fixed wing slots available. I think the last air-frame selection had 4 C-12s on it, but that is a lot more than usual. Usually you only see 1 or 2, so I would agree with johnhenry. Be 1st or 2nd in your class if you really want it, and even then they may not even have any FW available at the time. You typically want to go in with the mindset that you are willing to fly anything you are given. I think most people are being put in 64s right now anyway due to the needs of the Army. Edit: Yeah, the air frame selection for Warrant officers last week was 1 60m, 5 64d, 7 64E, and 4 C-12.

pnwflier47
airframes are like kids, you learn to love the ones you get Yeah I was #1 in my class and got my 3rd pick, #3 guy and down were forced Blackhawks. So, definitely work hard to put yourself in the best position possible, but ultimately big green is going to decide
