Air Force to Army

Recommended Posts

Hey Everyone been lurking for over a year, and now finally the bullet to go warrant.

So, I was looking over the USAREC checklist, and its asking for

-Evaluations (NCOERs (up to ten year's in order newest to oldest) and all AERs (1059s)

Are they asking for EPR's?

Because everywhere I look for Air Force to Warrant they aren't saying they are including EPR's in their packets.

If they are asking for EPR's how are they grading an Air Force EPR compared to an Army equivalent?

Yeah so when I submitted my package as a marine I included all of my fitness reports and my master brief sheet.

Whatever system you have in the airforce that evaluates your work performance is what they are looking for.

As far as grading Im sure they will briefly read the comment section from your reporting senior and mostly go off of your LOR comments.

But at the end of the day you arent the first airforce guy to be applying. They have seen the reports before

Mitch,

The reason I choose not to is bc I prefer to be the technical expert on flying. I know to many Air Force pilots that have spent many many years in staff positions that take away flight hours. While I know this can happen as a warrant, it is less likely. Plus being an AF pilot is still really difficult as the boards are really picky. And the selections rates are better for warrant right now.

Mitch,

I fully agree with simpsj17 in my opinion going AF Officer is not worth it (at least right now). In regards to the application for AD it's really complicated, and the boards are really strict on what they are looking for. Which is a good thing because they don't want to promote a dirt bag, but it's kind of contradicting with them saying they are hurting for O's. Then the board schedule is not consistent EVER! Every, year is different, and if you are going for a later board you are sitting there hoping it doesn't get cancelled. That's what happened to me I had everything ready to go for my board to come to find out that it got cancelled, and then this year they are only doing one board for AD. So, I just thought go Army because of what mentors told me that it was way easier, and the boards are more consistent . Plus I like the idea of if you didn't make it the first time you are automatically rolled into the next board. Rather than the Air Force where you have to wait along time for the next board.
