ByteFlighter
https://www.airforcetimes.com/news/your-air-force/2018/10/12/f-22s-qf-16-likely-damaged-after-tyndall-hangars-hit-by-hurricane/ "As many as ten F-22s may have been damaged by the storm" I get that some may of had their engine's out, or in the middle of an inspect, but that is quite ridiculous there wasn't any type of contingency plan. Like they really thought an aluminum hanger would protect those planes? C'mon Were talking ten f-22s which collectively cost taxpayers well over $1 Billion. I assume someone is about to be busted down or asked to retire over this one.
Mcwilli
As an F-16 crew chief I completely understand having ten broke jets that couldnt make it out. What bothers me more is why the hangars didnt have anchors in the structure to reinforce the roof. The code in Florida requires it. You would think the AF would make improvements to the hangar when they decided to station them there.

mike0331
This should surprise me, but it doesn't. Invest a few million extra bucks in the storage of $1B worth of aircraft. Mike
