WOFT Essay Threads

I have been lurking on this forum for quite a while as I have been putting my packet together. I am working on my essay as I gather LOR's and should have my physical approved any day now.

 

I have done a lot of searching for pointers and advice on the Essay, but seem to only get results from a single thread here. I believe it is titled ESSAY HELP or something similar.

 

The advice given seems to be to search for advice on essays. I haven't been successful at returning the information in that manner. Could someone possibly point me in the right direction via link, or tell me what Im missing using the search tool here?

There isn't really any dedicated threads to essay help. Just keep the essay short (obviously one page WRITTEN or less) and succinct. The board already knows "you love helicopters and have dreamed your whole life to fly". They want to know what makes you a better leader, soldier, and applicant than the other applicants. Use specific examples where you can.

 

My essay was 2 paragraphs and around ~300 words or so.

If you want PM me and I can link you to my essay. As XIIGage said keep it short and dont just say "I want to fly a helicopter because its fun!" I divided mine into why I wanted to join the Army, why I wanted to be an aviator, why I wanted to be an officer. As well as what I thought quallified me to be in each position. In total 4 paragraphs 350 words. I think I was trying to make mine sound more Army as well so I tried to base it around the Army values.
