Question About College Transcripts

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone. Long time lurker here.

In regards to my WOFT packet, I understand that I have to have my college transcript in there for it to be complete. Im in the next to last full semester of undergrad right now, and Im set to walk in May and graduate in July after almost 7 years of working towards a bachelors degree. Long story short, I left my local university to go to Bible college, only to realize Im not cut out for ministry 2 years into it. Im finishing at my first school and thatll be where my degree comes from.

All that being said, should I include my Bible college transcript, or will it matter at all since my degree is from a different school? Most of my extracurricular leadership experience comes from church internships where I set up and ran programs at a couple of churches. I figure its relevant for a battalion interview, but not for the paperwork part of the WOFT process.

Well, Having some morals helps with any job. So I might be misunderstanding you. But it seems like if you are going to graduate from the first college you attended in July 19'. Sense that is the case, you would not be applying for WOFT once you graduate. You would be applying for OCS. Sense you have a degree.

As for jumping around from college to college. That's normal. I went to San Diego Mesa Collge, University of Hawaii, and now Harvard extension. So it's up to you how you want to play your interview. Also, they will ask for all college transcripts. So you don't really get a choice on if you want to omit that. As for your rank, you would be a second lieutenant. Not a Warrant Officer 1.

Good job graduating.39f35e4490d81e48f596091340a96682--milita

No, that’s not how any of this works. If he submits a warrant officer packet and is selected he will be a warrant officer. It doesn’t matter if he has a high school diploma or three doctorates, he will be a warrant officer.

So commissioned officers go to warrant officer flight training?

That doesn't make sense.

He can go to either one. Sense he will have a degree at that point. What it boils down to is if you want more responsibility 20 years down the road as a (squadron) commander. Or if you are just interested in flying. That's as basic as you can make it. When it comes to distinguishing between the two.

Also, there is a pay difference. Personally, my religious views are what pushes me towards OCS instead of WOFT. Because I'm Islamic and Muhammad was a 5 star war general. And you can't get that unless you earn your commission through hard work.

If I am not mistaken, Warrant officers and commissioned officers go through the same training pipeline but get separate advanced airframe selections. So your stick buddy could very well be a 2lt during initial training.

He can go either one but is talking about going warrant.

True, It just seems like it would make more sense at that point to just get his "stick" from the get go to ensure a higher pay. And possibly a faster promotion process if he does well. And there are not as many commissioned officers as warrants, at his base.

I just want him to be successful.

For clarity, Im applying for WOFT, trying to be a warrant officer. Better shot at aviation than OCS.

Im graduating July 19 from my first college, the state school. My question is whether or not I should include the transcript from my time at the other school, or if I should just leave it out of my WOFT packet since I didnt graduate from there.

So I did something similar and started college in one school then transferred to a different school and finished my degree. I only included my latest transcript that had my "awarded degree" on it.

I didn't have anything significant on the old school's transcript that mattered though, so if you think the other school had some things you did to help increase your chances, then by all means include it. It doesn't hurt to have extra information. I even included my college honor society certificate in my packet just because it might look good. (don't know if it helped though)

Alright, thanks. The significant leadership stuff from my time at the Bible college was extracurricular and had almost nothing to do with the school, so I think Ill just leave the transcript from there out of the packet.
