gravityrideseverything
Has anyone recently or somewhat recently transferred from active duty sister service to the National Guard? I am an E-6 and do not want to lose rank if selected. What do I need to do at MEPS to ensure my rank is not lost? Any documentation required that is not in my permanent record? I have been offered to board very soon and I want to make sure I am not making a big mistake related to income and family obligations. *Edit* Active duty USCG
mike0331
Inter service from where? You need a civilian job if you're going guard. I kept my E5 from USMC. No matter really since it'll take about a year more or less from selection to wocs/ierw. In that 18 month package after 5 weeks of WOCS you'll be a W1 for pay purposes. Your enlistment paperwork from the Guard will have your rank. Mike
kona4breakfast
USCG is DOT, not DOD, so the DODI that covers IST isn't really applicable, and I don't know what would cover it.
