WOCS 19-501

Recommended Posts

I was also selected for 19-017 and got an email about 2 weeks ago saying my class changed to 19-501. Since then I received an amendment to my RFO, it says my new report date is 04 May due to a change of training schedules and that all Phase I classes are cancelled.

The date change actually really worked out in my favor but Im still a little confused on it, as the next paragraph in the RFO says to go to blackboard for distance learning but nothing has been updated there yet.

I checked ATRRS and there is a 19-501 class however it has even less information than the RFO. Has anyone else had any luck? Im thinking Im going to try emailing HRC if nothing is put out within a week or 2 after the new year.

Same exact situation for me. There aren't any mil book subpages for that class either. I'm kind of glad I got moved to this class since it's a lot sooner.

I attended WOCS as part of class 18-501. They called 500's classes "Trap Classes". Our class was smaller(52 candidates) than normal and we were all there for aviation. With that being said, even if DL still a requirement I wouldn't worry about it since it literally takes no time to complete the 2 courses. They WILL create a milsuite and you WILL be contacted by your Primary TAC. Believe it or not WOCS is kinda well organized and they are not going to leave you hanging. I was selected on July and reported to WOCS in September got everything done and believe me, between getting orders, clearing, finding a new place and moving in less than 2 months, the DL portion was the least of my worries and still got it done.

Hey man Im kind of in that boat but coming in as a PS civ. Between signing my contract at MEPS and my report date is 6 days. I havent been able to find a fb group for my class, dont have access to ATTRS, dont have a CAC, cant get on milsuite, and just overall havent been given any instruction or pre execution lists. On top of all of that Ive had life to contend with by moving my pregnant wife and our 1 year old into her mothers house while Im at WOCS and trying to get all of my other arrangements in order before leaving I havent really had any time to figure out what I need to do before reporting. I figure itll all work out but I also dont want to be that guy. My recruiter has been zero help. Any advice?

you just have to make it to Rucker... seems like you are not going to BCT so they'll square you away here. It's been a minute since I did WOCS but I've heard DLs are no longer a thing. My guess is just essay and bio.

Thank you. I figured that too but also didnt want to be the only guy showing up unprepared. Throughout my research Ive come across people saying DL isnt required but also people who say it is. As far as the essay and bio, I figured Ill have two weeks at reception to get those squared away since Ill have to inprocess and go through CIF. Anyone have any other advice or is there something Im missing?

You do all your real in-processing (CIF, APFT, half the stuff they have you get together on blackboard, stenciling, etc) as far as WOCS is concerned the first 5 days or so of the course. Between zero day and graduation is ~30 days including weekends, and I believe the ATRRS reservation is like 35 days. If you are there 2 weeks prior you'll have plenty of time to do your essays. Most people over-prepared for WOCS freaking out about the essays (myself included), getting every little thing done, etc. One of the few good parts of the course is Mr. Ortiz at HHC is very good about getting the incoming candidates set up.

Have fun.
