March Board 2019

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

New to the forum and loving it, lots of great information and helpful people so thanks to all of you! I am also waiting to here back from the March board. Ive looked around to see when I would be able to find out results. I was wondering if anyone would be able to shed some light on the process for me.

1. When do civilian results come out?

2. How would I find results? (I heard they might come out in a milper message but I was wondering if they would also email me, on my civilian email address?)

Thanks in advance and good luck to everyone boarding!

Do you know when civilian applicants would find out results?

Today or tomorrow most likely. From what my recruiter said, they have access to a list that tracks applicants. My understanding is that they are just knocking people off that list currently, until they are done.

Edit* Civilians do not have access to the list. Your recruiter does. My understanding is that USAREC will call you / email you regardless.

It would be awesome if you could request a copy of the final list from your recruiter and post it here afterwards. I'm sure everyone here would appreciate it.

My recruiter doesn't seem to have the same info :(

Cant post the list here. Too much PII (Personally Identifiable Information). You can shoot a PM and I can screen shot just your name if you would prefer.

I wonder if this board will mirror the last three with ~40-50% acceptance rate or whether it will go back up to 100% like the one's 4/5 boards ago. The anticipation is killing me and I was selected in the September board lol.

Id bet my next paycheck on 20 selectees at a ~45% rate.

thanks man. I'll pm you. No chance to just screenshot the names if its in a column format? (This would resolve the privacy issue believe.)

It will probably stick to the new trend of 40-50%. It's been that way since they implemented the electronic board, AKA "no more battalion board" procedure.

idk if that caused it to drop. I was a part of the last board that required the battalion board and that yielded 49% acceptance.

hmm... Maybe the selection rate just happened to be that way during that time.

Wasn't it because they were hurting for pilots but now they backfilled most of that and returned to recruiting an amount that can sustain current need?

I hope you're right, and it ebbs in the opposite direction this time.

I'm curious to see what qualities the board wants to see this go around. That's one of the benefits to the list they have, they can sort out people quantitatively. But it makes me wonder, how do they judge the quality of LOR's against other applicants? Bit of a rhetorical question, because we'll never know.

In regards to street to seat, I have to imagine that letters from people who personally know you have more weight than letters from warrants who have known you for a month.

This is what I got from a friend.

Another issue that arose last week was my being a member of the WOSB - warrant officer selection board...

Interesting. Yeah after re-reading my LOR's a couple weeks after submission, I realized one of the CW4's misspelled my name. My last name is "Peugh." He spelled it "Pugh." I would have considered that insignificant, because that is a pretty common situation for me. Hopefully it isn't seen as a lack of attention to detail.

Grammar errors are something they really look at especially in the resume and lors.

Another issue that arose last week was my being a member of the WOSB - warrant officer selection board. ALL of you were boarded and remember the process you went through. As part an initiative called "Fill your Boots" in the "Spots, Dots and Slots" or "SDS" program we ran for warrants at 1ID, it is your responsibility to work at recruiting and replacing yourself with a quality civilian, Soldier, NCO or officer. One thing I would like you all to know about the board currently is that it is NOT a competitive board against all ranks anymore while quotas and ceilings have been placed on selection. This is why many of you who have written letters for very squared away folks are having Q-NS and NQ-NS results. Just do your very best to select the absolute best to be you going forward and that brings up the packets: I noticed was a huge lack of attention to detail in the Senior Warrant Officer Letters of Recommendation and in the basic completion of the packet. If you happen to be the SWOA (CW3 -5) for the LOR, it is YOUR responsibility to ensure the packet is complete and it is a reflection on you as a professional for completion and accuracy. I have called several folks who wrote letters to discuss the condition of the packets and LORs. When you misspell words like "United Sates Army" in the summary of the resume, the board catches it. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to let me know. I have included the latest sample packet and checklist for you all.

I don't understand a big portion of the above...

What does your friend mean by: "it is NOT a competitive board against all ranks anymore while quotas and ceilings have been placed on selection. This is why many of you who have written letters for very squared away folks are having Q-NS and NQ-NS results."???

Who is he addressing here: "Just do your very best to select the absolute best to be you going forward and that brings up the packets: I noticed was a huge lack of attention to detail in the Senior Warrant Officer Letters of Recommendation and in the basic completion of the packet. If you happen to be the SWOA (CW3 -5) for the LOR, it is YOUR responsibility to ensure the packet is complete and it is a reflection on you as a professional for completion and accuracy."??? Is it the civilian applicant or the person writing the letter of recommendation?
