Singhdrewan
Hello everyone,I started this journey a little over two years ago. Had eye surgery in March of 2017, and I'm finally set! I was originally planning to go AD, but due to finding out my state does street to seat in the guard, I opted to go that route. I passed my state aviation board back in August and my FEDREC board in October. I *finally*, yes, that long, got my waiver approved by MEPS for my PRK. My flight physical didn't even need a waiver, it just stated that I had PRK. My waiver was all that was between me and a control number from NGB on when I could ship to BCT. I'd like to thank everyone on this forum for all the immense help they've given me and everyone else on here. It's been one amazing and stressful experience and I've met so many amazing people willing to help, but I know it's just the beginning. To anyone out there stuck in a tough place in their application process, keep pushing! Find yourself a good recruiter, I went through 4 AD recruiters until I finally stumbled upon an amazing WOSM and group of recruiters that have become my friends and fought for me to push through the whole process. Seriously, if I could have gotten selected, anyone with enough drive can too!

Gideon
Congrats ma dude! Its still a long road. Even with all the shenanigans to look forward too, just try to make the most of it all. Lots of crazy experiences ya cant get anywhere else and at the end of the day you'll still be getting paid for it all. Stay positive and try to learn something from every place you find yourself. Even if that means just learning something new about yourself. It honestly goes quite fast for all tbe waiting. I first talked to my recruiter back in May 2016 selected and shipped in 2017 and now in the UH-60M course with graduation on the horizon. Its been a crazy ride but also been quite rewarding. Can't wait to get back to flying again. Best of luck as you start out on the adventure yourself!
