FAA or JAA courses?

Recommended Posts

Hi there,

I started a similar post a few weeks back, check it out:

Basically, if you're a U.S citizen, all you need is the FAA as you can move all around the U.S and go wherever the jobs take you. If you're from outside the U.S and are from Europe (like myself - U.K) you have to either stump up the extra cash to get JAA so that when you get kicked out of the U.S eventually you can get a job in Europe. OR you simply take a leap of faith and get a FAA only and take it day by day, possibly hopping back and forth from U.S, Canada, and various other countries that are happy to take you on a FAA licence.

All the while you should be building hours, building certifications, networking, even trying to immigrate to U.S/Canada/Australia/New Zealand/Anywhere or perhaps saving money for a JAA conversion incase you actually want to come back to Europe (no thanks!).

As for schools:

(Missouri) Regal: http://regalhelicopters.co.uk/4598.html do a joint course, some based in U.K, with hour building in U.S. It costs about $US41,600 or £24,700UKP.

(Florida) HAI: http://www.heli.com/index.html do a joint course, all based in U.S, it costs about $US59,200 or £35,100UKP.

Hope i've helped. Feel free to ask more questions. And do check out the topic link at the top of this post.
