helidoc Posted January 8, 2006 Report Share Posted January 8, 2006 I just sold my AvMap IIIc since I got a hard wired panel unit but it was a nice unit, especially the screen and graphics. It is a little big for the knee type holder. No complaints except sometimes the C card connector cable to the mother board contacts need to be cleaned or the airspace graphic stop working. I refresh the card three times a year , about $180.00 I also have a Garmin 420 on the bird but never use it as it is badly placed and too small. Hard to see with these old eyes The unit is a bit large for kneepad use and it gets hot. It can easily be fitted with any kind of RAM mount. There is some question about ongoing upgrades but, as is, it's still way ahead of the competition. Good luck and fly safe. Doug Sorry Doug, SG is in a nice heated hanger in our back parking lot, I've been flying it whenever the weather co-operates. Had a beautiful flight Saturday to the Cutler area, Down East Maine, landed on frozen lake at a club member's camp, had a great fly-in, 5 fixed wing and SG.I thought Bob had a 44 by now?? I did a little over 30 hours last month in my 22 which is pretty good considering the weather of late and the fact that I have a full time job. I usually keep it up in a heated hangar up at my place on Northwood lake, but I decided to keep it at GFW for the winter as it's closer to where I live. No 44 yet. Let me know when you're having some more flyins and I'll do my best to make it. Any excuse is fine.
