frmersshstdnt
Sounds like they've done it again. Anyone correct me if I am wrong in saying that Silver State Helicopters has crashed yet another heli, killing at least three people near Gillespie airfield, SSH's San Diego based training facility. http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/metro/2...07-midair2.html

It scares me. Just to think I was O.K. with letting my husband train with them. He'll be lucky to get off the ground again.. Thank God, thats over. I would be soooo interested find out how many people they have actually lost. And how many heli's they've dropped... Let me know. Thanks a bunch... joker
frmersshstdnt, In another thread, I talked about the proximity to slander and libel of some of the posts on this forum regarding SSH. The title of your post (and particularly your first sentence) is as close to it as you can get, and very irresponsible. Whilst it doesn't say it wasn't SSH, nowhere in that report did it mention SSH. Thus, your title is speculation. In your time in this helicopter career, you'll hear of more than one personal friend being killed in helicopter crashes. It's just a matter of time, it being such a small industry. When your turn comes, you will realise that all the guessing and speculation that surrounds a tragedy involving your friends (and possibly loved ones) is mostly tasteless, usually factually wrong and just adds to the hurt. You will learn then to wait until facts are discovered, for the benefit of those involved. Whatever the outcome of this accident, whether SSH or not, whether actually a mid-air, please take my post as a plea to maybe think twice in the future before posting after an accident. Anyone correct me if I am wrong in saying that Silver State Helicopters has crashed yet another heli, killing at least three people near Gillespie airfield, SSH's San Diego based training facility. http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/metro/2...07-midair2.html It appears as if it was not a helo and an airplane, but two fixed winged aircraft. That was the last I heard/saw on the news. Pics of wreckage on the ground looked like 2 airplane fuselages... **EDIT** Just found this link with more info. Cessna 172 and a 182. Reportedly a third aircraft is still missing from Gillespie Field. http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/metro/2...planecrash.html

Roton
Like I said above. One really should check facts (and engage brain) before opening mouth. Exactly. Report as of 14 minutes ago, tail numbers of the second aircraft positively identify it as NOT even being a helicopter.

joker
Of course there is nothing funny about this accident at all...condolences to the families. On the other hand, you've got to love local press! Where do they get these people from? I guess they'll be talking about this in El Cajon for a very long time! “It could have been worse,” El Cajon Fire Chief Mike Scott said. "basically it was like the space shuttle . . . but not as bad, of course,” said Chris Rohan, 29. He was walking his pit-bull terrier at Canine Corners, the dog park..." "...and one tire caught fire. He doused the flames with a water bottle." "I was a little scared. I didn't want it to land on me. " “It could have easily happened over the campus,” he said. “Miracles still happen, and that was one of them.” “She said, 'I think our house is on fire,' ” said Seifert, 53, a software developer. " "A firefighter rescued their dog, a tortoise and four birds." "“My stomach dropped,” York said." Hmmm, I wonder if Mrs Miggins' cat survived, or if its still stuck up the tree! Joker P.S. Huey, who's 'Dang'?

joker
OK, my last word on this...not to rub things in but... It is only a partial let-off to blame the media, when it was obvious that actually you were gunning for some more 'anti-SSH' fever!...but if it makes you feel better than so be it. Moreover, your appology is not to us, we all saw the error of your ways right from the start... your appology is owed to SilverStateHelicopters. I suggest you go back and edit your post as such...that would be the noble thing to do. And yes, this will be a lesson to you and others. Joker To moderators, I have asked by PM (and herein asking publicly) whether it would be possible to merge all the SSH threads together...it seems there is yet another one started today...its getting tiresome and not what this forum is for. Joker Agreed, enough SSH threads already, make a forum for SSH complaints or something. Those who can figure out they suck already have and those that can't never will. frmersshstdnt
Those who can figure out they suck already have and those that can't never will. Thats not true. if you are sick of it, dont click on it, dont read it. its existance does not hurt anyone, except maybe SSH's ability to commit more fraud. I'd say the existance of multiple threads on the same subject is hurting this forum, I for one am sick of reading all the bitching about silverstate wether the allegations have any ground or not, consequently I am using other helicopter forums more regularly
helos4me
I'd like to echo Joker's sentiments. Merge the SSH threads together and let frmersshstdnt et al go crazy in one place. This campaign vs. SSH has gotten quite childish and immature. If you have a valid complaint against SSH (or any entity), try keeping it a bit more professional if you intend to garner any support. When you post "sounds like they've done it again" in multiple threads you end up looking like a scorned child... By the way, nice attempt to blame the media. Sounds like a classic example of something I recall from the FOI's...
ChopperJ
ok, i am sooo sorry i relied on american media for my info. I don't think there was anything wrong with the "American media" reporting, they only quoted a witness on the ground, they never confirmed it was a helicopter. Just as you erred in assuming it was a SSH chopper people on the ground with little aviation knowledge may have thought they saw a helicopter.
