svrider
I know this was discussed before the board switched to the new forum, but I can't find it now. What do employers look for in a resume? What can you say or do to get an employer to really read your resume. ThanksSV
West Coaster
What can you say or do to get an employer to really read your resume. Hand deliver it.
delorean
Break down your hours by: Total time, total helicopter time, total helicopter PIC, heli night, heli x/c, heli instrument. List times for specific makes/models. If it's for an instructor job, list dual given. Turbine job, list total turbine (inc. airplane) and heli turbine and type. List all your certificates, ratings, and restrictions. The reason for all of this is to see if you meet their insurance minimums. If you can't deliver it in person, mail it with a cover letter and send a email/fax saying that it's on its way. Follow up a week or two later. delorean
You can list your weight if you think it will help get you the job. I always list mine after my medical......"No restrictions, 130 lbs, non-smoker, non-drinker". If you're 275 lbs, you probably shouldn't list it. Don't give them too much info about yourself. k9medic
Utilize spell check. Normal text fonts, and format are also nice.
