whirlfly
Does anyone have any information about working for Quick Silver in Alaska. I know that they do utility work with R44s and supposedly they pay well but that's it.Any input would be appreciated. Thanks!!!
HeliZach
I saw this posted in the www.rotorwashinternational.com forum on February 6th: "We are accepting resumes for the 2006 summer season part 135/133 using our five Raven II aircraft. We are a Robinson dealer/service center and do utility work throughout Alaska mostly based out of remote camps. Applicant needs 2000 hrs. min helicopter time with 100 hrs R-44 time, previous Alaska experience, mountain flying, confined area landings. OAS carded, pilot meechanic a plus. On site lodging and excellent salary. We also have a base in the lower 48 with possible winter work for the right candidate.Contact Sharon Swisher Quicksilver Air Inc. C of G
I have a real good friend that did a season with them and really enjoyed it. It crosses his mind every now and again to go back. Good people, good maintenence and varied work. However, if you're not comfortable roughing it, I would think twice. Mosquitos bigger than the helicopter living in remote areas with some less than friendly locals. Not easy work, but if you're confident in your abilities it would be a great opportunity to grow. I am told they lost a R44 a few seasons back due to a roll over and they do quite a bit of training on stuck skids. (P.S. can anyone let me know how to use the spell check, I can't find it anymore, if that's not evident by my spelling. Thanks.)
