Any word?

Yea, pretty good school. Lousy recepionist though ! LOL ! I think you know what I mean, Flying Pig. Chin, the chief instructor, is pretty good. But a bit inconsistent in terms of instructing. Never flew with any of the other instructors though.

Troop....Did you ever work with Wayne? I know he moved on, just wondering where he went. I was his first student. Good instructor. He was one of those you could actually carry on a non flying conversation with too! We spent many a good lunch at the upstairs cafe over there on the runway! I only flew with Chin for the 500 training. Lots a knowledge.

Anyway....Arcticfox..

They have a good atmosphere....300C's and R-22's. Plus the weather is great! Good training areas. A plus too is that it is a controlled airport so you get experience in your first hour talking on the radio with the tower, which I think is an often over looked skill when you learn at a non-towered field. Prices....I think they are pretty average with what you will find out there. They were also affiliated with ....I think it was Utah Valley College for a degree program also....youll have to check on that though. Great x-country locations to go to. I liked that pad myself......you had to bring it in right past a 3 story building...over a busy intersection and set it right on the concrete square because because of the other helicopters sitting there....none of this shooting an approach to a football field size pad and then hovering over to your spot! I think evertime I had a lesson I had to take off and land between the 500 and that grey and blue MD 900 they had there....Im sure Troop feels my pain on that one! Ill tell you though.....my hover was rock solid! Plus, if your going to be living in Carlsbad during your training, you cant beat it!

Yea, I never did like the approach to the pad. FP, never did fly with Wayne. Flew with John and Chin. I liked John. Not sure where Wayne moved on to. I think he might have gone back up north.
