im going to leonardwood for basic and ait. the reason i had to go 88m was because i have a ged and going warrant requires a degree. i know of two people who enlisted as various jobs then went to ocs. thats the same route i am taking. i guess people who become soldiers have a certain mindset because when people ask me why i enlisted all i can really say is because i wanted too.. i wanted to do something good in my life. i know it sounds cheesy to some people but honestly, i would be honored to die for a country as great as ours.

When I was in, my goal was to make the other guy die for his country! :D

Seriously, I hope you get what you want.

If it were me, I would stay in the guard and keep my flying job. Best of both worlds.

The last time I checked, you didn't need a degree to become a warrant officer. Just 16 college credit hours. If someone out there knows different, please, feel free to correct me.

Anyway, I was of the same frame of mind. I went active though and am now working on Apache helicopters. Sometimes it gets a little boring, but, I'm glad I did it. It changed me a lot, not all at once but, I feel like I'm a better person for it.

Keep us posted on what's up and good luck!

You are correct.

WP, Congrats! The Army needs truck drivers too. Enjoy your time and utilize opportunities as they come available. PM if I can help out with anything or any questions.
