qwerty
So I've heard a couple stories of what the squawk code 7777 means, and no one was sure or positive of what it actually does. So what happens if I squawk 7777? Is my bird going to blow up? Curiosity is killing me.

It's used for Fighters or Helicopters during intercepting procedures, from what I understand. And another one is 0000 I've heard that's now being designated for UAV operations. That's just what I've heard from some of my controller buddies, but I haven't seen any official documention as far as those go.
IWannaFly
haha. I think it was just to scare us away from ever using it, but they used to tell us in college that it was what the military used to identify targets.
FLHooker
Angelfire is correct, it's for Military Intercept Aircraft. It's in the GP (General Planning) DOD FLIP. CHAD
