Flying Pig Posted November 29, 2003 Report Share Posted November 29, 2003 I am a 5 yr police officer in So. Cal. I have my fixed wing and helicopter Private, and I am working on my Helo/Inst. I have been attempting to get an aviation unit started in my PD for about 2 yrs. I talked with the CIty Manager and the Dep Chief, was told "Well, the way we see it, you probably have about 10 years to work on it." Not that Im not dedicated, but..............I got the picture. I am looking at Kern County Sheriff, Ca. Is anyone here from KCSO, or know anything about their Air Unit. I have looked on their web site. I have been a cop long enough to know these are coveted positions, but I am looking for a dept where it could at least be a posibility somewhere down the road.
