Woft for Me?

Hey all,

 

 

 

I'm 20 years old, and am interested in WOFT to become a helicopter pilot. I'm a fixed wing driver right now with about 1200TT, and 95 Credits of college completed. I maxed out the Asvab. Out of curiosity what are my chances of getting accepted? What goes into the boards etc. Are they going to want someone with civilian flight time because they are going to have to retrain? Any info would be good. So far I've looked into all of the military programs, and WOFT looks like the one that could put me into helicopters now, and for the extended future (I've heard stories about people being promoted out of the seat). Any feed back would be nice. Thanks.

There are a ton of similar posts through out the forum. All of which can be answered simply. You won't know unless you apply. There are many candidates that start out the process and give up before they give the process ample time to work. All i can say is that your civilian flight time can only help in your pursuit to become a rotor wing pilot. Your resume reflecting this training, your college experience will also help.
