  1. The problem is scale one machine = disaster on contract work, one big break down =hire in machine & poss pilot + big bill say $110k gearbox $120k engine rebuilds blade12k last time I think this is for MD500 smaller bits still scary
  2. Flew one Once, before that I thought the 300A was under powered
  3. Why not list here ? there are people on here who maintain 300s & Robinson I expect
  4. Headset plug wiring.pdf Have come across different configurations though
  5. Been there Rise 😎 but mine looked at his No2 & said "I new this would happen one Day" as he handed My UK licence back & explained you did not stop in the centre reservation on dual carriageway, think he could see a lot of paperwork PS I am always polite to policemen they can seriously impact your day

    Scary bits

Since we sold our 500 have not been very active But here are some scary bits found over the years
  8. Brian why don,t you have a word with Steve Sennit at RPX they might help with balance for some feedback steve@rpxtech.com A friendly Co always returns calls & does what it says it will we cannot fault them. Say Peter & Tony suggested you had a word We have had a very slow year due to other commitments & have not used the RPX enough to get a handle on it, hoping to ramp up next year
  9. Have an Eagle like it the helmet once the pads were set up is comfortable. the ear cups take a fair bit of adjusting to seal well without adjusting your head , jell seals were the first mod I did. Wish All machines had 1 standard connector Like the magnetic catch idea more info please? Fitted headsetsinc ANR kit to the Eagle not that taken with the mod, I use Pilot ANR head sets in another machine, friend modified a 3M Type 2 hearing protector head set with the electronics from a set of damaged Pilot ANR they are the quietest I have flown with. Have a Lightspeed Mach 3 with custom inserts not impressed with those either, the cups on standard head sets stop bone transfer Check the passive protection of the head set first then the added ANR, I also understand the ANR helps clarity rather than protection across the hearing range, I think there is a Swedish or Norwegian paper setting out the pros & cons, also read a report that fast jet protection ANR is tailored to individual aircraft types. https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=-8wOd2fQZ2IC&pg=PA967&lpg=PA967&dq=anr+headset+reports&source=bl&ots=8P69BGRuI-&sig=ACfU3U0PvUK9jNQ60PcuU8w8ulU9o6nXOg&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjc2KS2mbboAhWioVwKHYiuCk0Q6AEwD3oECAoQAQ#v=onepage&q=anr headset reports&f=false
  10. I have Lightspeed in ear with custom moulds had 2 sets made by different Co neither feel comfortable, tend to use Pilot ANR A friend had some moulds made by one of the Co I used & borrows the Lightspeeds, love them I think it is down to personal preference. The ones I use on Bike annoy me after 1\2 hour as well different mould Co again
  11. Never had one of these crack or spit bits out
  12. Fidley to post picks now most sites are drag & drop
  13. Never thought about looking inside was told just keep it in the green & look where you are going to put it, but I can see how you could get fixated about the numbers & when you look out it is a rush to get your last bit clean. The other thing is a real auto is not like practice the motor is gone no little bit of help at the bottom with the remaining motor RPM & as sure as hell you want to get collective down quick the RRPM drop seems to be a lot quicker when it all goes quite, How do I know (around 300ft in a 300c climbing out nothing bent), went & thanked the instructor after lessons learnt cant remember what I did it was so quick, WE always did Autos to the ground I know it is not the modern way but I found it easier than recovering to a hover
  14. As Bonzo said it should be a strait in auto or are you leaving the turn till you are low & having to flare in the turn,, bit like a down wind quick stop turning into wind.
  15. Personally I find the format a pain clunky not friendly.
  16. Would you want to work for a Co that has such poor interpersonal skills,
  17. Thanks for reply Brian what a downer seeing you spent so much time to get it right, Sent you a PM
  18. Don't see you at the other place nowadays Brian, how is the 500 going
  19. The head seems to be a bit of 500 strap pack technology with the multiple redundancy. The lack iof castings seems to be a feature of Eastern European design same as the AK3
  20. As you say @Discap time will tell but as I said "but you never know till you see & fly them" the concept is good it seems to be a thought through project As you have seen one what was your overall impression. Some major helicopter manufacturers parts supply leaves a lot to be desired it cant be much worse, over the last 5+ years we have torn our hair out. The hours flown i totally agree with you lets see a few, the electric back up (dynastart) concept seems feasible, parts pricing could be an issue. It would seem that someone has put a fair amount of time & money into the project I wish them luck, They need to get on top of sales, I know someone in France has not had a response to an email enquiry
